Hi - Long time lurker but now asking questions.
I am planning a 3-4 week trip next June-July and looking to have 3 stopovers in JFK/LHR/BIO (SPAIN) leaving from TSV/CNS. I’m QF Silver and member of QP. No real status on other airlines. Got about 375K points as well. There will be 5 adults travelling and we are looking at Economy airfares.
I’m reasonably loyal to QF but am having difficulty in coming up with a reasonable cost when searching online. I’ve used QF One World for a RTW trip last year with my wife on points (280K) and thought that was good value. We maximised stopovers and sectors. But at present they are running around $4799 each, which is hard to justify for my limited stops and time.
I’ve also looked at doing a conventional QF Europe trip with a side trip to New York and that is likely to be around $3500 each.
I’ve now become aware of the Lufthansa RTW fare option which does allow you to use QF on the legs in and out of Australia. This might be around $2500.
So my learned friends I’m requesting help with the following:
Ø Has anyone had recent experience with the Lufthansa Option and can they offer any suggestions/recommendations.
Ø Has anyone got a current set of rules/conditions for these RTW flights (I have seen an earlier one in AFF).
Ø Are there any other creative ways to get these 3 stopovers at a reasonable price (and still have some QF flights)
Thanks
