Advice needed on LAX transit

I'm also looking for transit advice for LAX. I have only ever done a stopover there. Quick trip this time so no stop over.
Arriving on QF11, so I assume Tom Bradley. Departing from Terminal 6 with Alaska Airlines.

I get the whole pick up bags and re-drop thing. Have seen the signs to transit on previous visits. The question is about security, do I do TSA at the transit point? Can I then get to Terminal 6 once I'm back airside? Or do I need to get to terminal 6 on the outside?

@Vic After bag redeposit, you exit to the landside arrivals hall. Stay inside. Head right then down to the end where there is a transit security. This takes you up and at the T4/TBIT connector.

Then head left along the connector to head to T4, go to gate 44 and down the escalator to the tunnel connecting T4 to T5 and T6.

Transit security still takes sometime. I did a delayed QF11 to a domestic connection in T4 and it took about an hour all up, and this was carry on only. Had to run and was one of the last to board.

The "express" cards given were useless.
