Advance Seat Selection

Have booked on QF website for Brisbane - Longreach flight which is operated by QantasLink/Sunstate I assume. Is it possible to do a seat selection in advance for these flights. Flight is in Febuary and the manage my booking section of QF website says that this flight is not eligible. Rang QFF and they said that it is not showing any seating plans at the moment but to check back around the end of December and seat plans should be available by then. Is this correct and if not, how does seat allocation get arranged.

Can confirm you can only select seats for Qantaslink flights at OLCI.
