I started as an Acronym, but is now a registered trade mark and as such the owner can define how it is to be presented (upper and lower case). And Qantas Airways has decided it can be used either as all capitals (as they do on the side of the aircraft and when used in conjunction with the red triangle and roo image like thisRobert Barlow said:Not an uncommon mistake, although I don't think a spell check would help. I have been there a few times now and still no Quantas anywhere in sight.oz_mark said:But aren't the ads based on the contents of the page? Got to the 747-300 to Perth thread which is one of the spots this comes up. Quantas is not mentioned anywhere on the page, but the ad link comes up!

The reason is that Qantas has probably contacted Google and told them not to let advertisers use "Qantas" (a trademark term) in their ads.
As such if an advertiser tries to enter an ad with Qantas in the ad, Google Adwords will not allow it. So instead, the advertiser uses a word as similar as possible to Qantas.
