Admirals Club/QC at T4 LAX

Be careful with QF25/QF26. from June 9th it changes to a 737 between MEL and AKL and a 744 between LAX and AKL. note that the QF25 departs MEL at OMG o'clock 5am or 6am depending on the time of the year.

Is this going to be the norm from now on? I'm flying the route again in late Dec and it's only got the 744 listed as the equipment but that probably means nothing considering the 744 is the main aircraft from LAX-AKL.

Just had a look, I have the 744 from LAX-AKL and a 738 AKL-MEL. Musn't be the loads through to MEL from AKL to warrant the 744's journey. I know when I flew Ex MEL on QF25 that the plane was probably 60% full MEL-AKL and around 90-95% AKL-LAX.

You are correct about the lounge part, but accessing T4 is possible

AA & AS have a special transfer service that runs every 10-15 minutes.

If you arrive into T4, you are allowed back in to get on the bus which also services all AA Eagle flights from the remote terminal.
Thanks for clarifying. I was not aware they let you back in. Do you need to show both T4 inbound and T3 outbound boarding pass to get through the T4 security screening? Or are they happy with just the T3 onward boarding pass?

I have just shown the T3 BP and have only been quizzed a couple of times. It also helps that even though it is an AS flight I always book them as an AA codeshare, so most of the time they dont even pick up the gate number, or have encountered such a situation so many times that they have a good idea what you are doing. (the couple of times I have been pulled up when I have mistakingly gone past the point of no return, a quick explanation and all is good).

It should also be pointed out that I have always had my bags checked right through to the final destination which helps.

I'm on QF 93 this Thursday morning (hoping for a PE upgrade). I change at LAX for QF 3031 (AA codeshare to JFK) - the original QF connection was cancelled so I had to get a later flight.

My question is: I have a QC complimentary pass (about to turn SG but won't be for a few weeks) and wish to partake of a lounge. I arrive in Terminal 2 but leave for JFk in Terminal 4.
Can I use the Qantas Lounge to while away the hours in Terminal 2 or is my only choice the AC in Terminal 4 after passing through customs?

You should arrive in TBIT, not terminal 2. After completing immigration/customs formalities you redeposit any checked luggage and end up airside. It's a short walk to the right for T4.

As stated it's not T2, however the point is moot as you will not have access to TBIT airside.

You will need to go through T4 security to get to the A/C. Note this is a Joint QF/AA facility and your invitation should be quite acceptable for entry.

Hmmm ... seems QF107 LAX/JFK has been cancelled that day. Do you have your AA PNR reference for that codeshare (It's different from QF's, if you look your booking up on www.checkmytrip.com and look for "Airline confirmation number(s): American Airlines xx_xx_"). Plug whatever xx_xx_ is into "Record Locator" with your surname into https://www.aa.com/aa/reservation/findReservationAccess.do and you may be able to select seating online. (I have not tried this with QF codeshares on AA flight - tell if it works).

Thanks for that! Yes, I made I sure I got my seat allcation online quite early with AA. I had no problems at all with that.

Is the AA Lounge as dumpy and crowded as people are saying it is? Are there any other options ar is that it?

T4 also is brighter with more of a view (sorry make that -a- view... I found the TBIT QF/AA/CX/BA J lounge a bit of a cocoon... but the free tap beers were nice)

Oh and internet is not comp of QP members, you have to pay (T-mobile from memory..)

hang on... I've got a pic some where...

I logged on last week in T4 with my laptop and used my QC membership number, and it worked fine with the internet. In fact, that was where I started this thread!

I logged in while waiting for QF26 Monday week back. Don't know who the service was provided by as I didn't take any notice! It simply asked for an ID so I put in the QC number and it worked!
