On my last points statement there was a message that due to a rebuild of the QP members could not take guests in for a period of time (can't remember the exact dates).

Has anyone been there recently and had any experience - were they policing the member/no guest rule?

Cheers

Pretty poor not to be able to take guests in!

Lounge developments in Adelaide

From February 2006, Qantas Club members travelling through the new airport terminal in Adelaide will be treated to the latest in lounge features and design. The new lounge will be almost double the size of the current space, have more business facilities, and include a variety of seating and entertainment zones.

In the meantime, between October 2005 and February 2006 whilst development of the new lounge is underway, lounge facilities will be limited to boarding calls, on-departure upgrades, showers and toilets and a light food and beverage service.

Due to limited space, guests of Qantas Club members will be unable to access the lounge until development is complete in February 2006.

Will be interesting to see if Mrs NM is allowed to take 1 and 11 year old Mini's into the lounge in January. I will warn her that she may not be permitted. I guess it will depend upon how busy they are on the day.

As domestic flights are still using the old terminal, I imagine there are no problems taking guests in because it is still the same old lounge. The restrictions might start once domestic flights move to the new terminal - 3rd deadline lucky is 'mid November'. They've stopped trying to put an actual date on it after 2 false starts already.

My trip (luckily) coincides with the 3rd test - end of November so will have to hope that the move to the new terminal gets pushed back again.

Thanks for your feedback.

I get a tad uncomfortable sitting in the overflow lounge in Adelaide that used to be the Golden Wing, must be the ghosts of beers past!

Not to mention that blue carpet! :?

Was in the QC at Adelaide domestic today.

No problems as a Plat entering with guest.

Lounge was packed. Storm came in and delayed flights etc. Bring on the new airport please!!

I made a day trip to Adelaide last Weds, first time in years.

What a dump! The terminal is in such a ramshackle state. I saw the new terminal sitting there gleaming. The person I was visiting told me that it was meant to be operating by now but they have a problem with the underground fuel pumps. Pity the poor store owners who have no customers. :(

Anyway, I visited the QP while waiting for my afternoon departure. The place was packed - barely a seat available, and the air-con was not coping very well with the heat and the number of people.

My father flew through Adelaide today and the Qantas staff advised that "it may not be until next year" as to when the terminal opens. Obviously no-one wants to commit to a date.
