Virgin's triple status credits offer was too good to resist, and I've booked a weekend away in Adelaide at the end of July.

It's been a little while since the last AFF dinner in Adelaide, so I thought it might be fun to plan one for while I'm in town.

Let's meet for an evening of good food, wine and frequent flyer tales on Saturday, 27 July 2024. Am open to restaurant suggestions, ideally somewhere in the Adelaide CBD.

Hope to see you there! 😊

Luma at the Playford is hatted, and in fitting with AFF, it does Accor Plus dining discounts. But only for groups of 7 or less, more and they force the banquet menu which is exempt from A+

And if anyone is staying at the Luma they can charge the bill to their room for the ALL status points 😂

Last time I was involved in organising an AFF dinner in Adelaide, we got a lot more than 7 people. 😅

Hey @Mattg
Alas I’m going on a long European summer vacation and will be in Spain on 27th July

As for CBD based locations
I can recommend
Eros (Rundle st) Greek
Koomo (10th floor Crown Plaza) Japanese

Depending on if you’re going to do pre-drinks
I prefer Mothervine
Vardon Place off Rundle st
It’s a wine bar per se and serves a selection of mains

I’ll be Keen!
Happy to go wherever.
Some Good suggestions literally a $8 Uber from the city
- palindinos cucina - Italian
- parwana - Afghan
- Francesco’s osteria - Italian

In the city -
Bambini - Italian
Ding Hao- Asian
The little hunter - steak
Strathmore hotel upstairs - steak
Coal and cellar - steak (Hilton hotel)

Watching this with interest. I have plans to be in Melbourne the next week, so I'll see if I can re-jig my plans so I go SYD-ADL-MEL-SYD instead.

Does anyone have recommendations for Accor hotels in Adelaide? I'm eyeing the Watson as it's relatively cheap and looks quite good.

I've never been to an AFF gathering before - I keep missing them because dates don't align! So fingers crossed I can make this one.

The Watson is out of town in the old Water supply building in Walkerville
If you’re into nature a stones throw from the River Torrens - about a 4km walk along the river to town

A Woolies and coffee shops nearby including one at the bottom of the building

Thanks! It’ll probably be between this and the Ibis depending on how long I stay in Adelaide.

The area around the Watson looks nice but it doesn’t look too convenient for a short stay.

Watson being not in the CBD may be a bit inconvenient - but only an Uber away, I guess.

Rockford is a Novotel in the CBD and almost the same price for the 27th.

I'll be staying at the Altura at the airport, as I have an early flight out on Sunday morning

The Atura is even further out 6kms but defo handy for an early morning departure
