A question to the experienced ones before I start messing up with the QF online booking system.

I'd like to redeem a QF gift voucher for a itinerary SYD - xSIN - KUL - [stopover] - BKI - xKUL - xSIN - SYD. The legs SIN - ... - SIN I'd like to do as MH reward flights. How should I try to maneuver in the QF online booking page to get this done? Or is this something a call centre could book once I scout out the desired flights?

Alternatively, I could break this into two itineraries: 1) SYD - SIN - SYD and 2) the Malaysian legs. But I'd prefer to keep the connections on a single ticket in case of disruptions, especially for the return trip.

Generally speaking, you cannot book Reward and Cash tickets on the same itinerary. I believe it's possible with QF and QF, but I'm pretty confident you can't mix MH Reward + QF Cash.

Why waste your points? QF has fares allowing SYD-SIN-KUL-BKI and back and you can do the stopovers you're wanting with the MH segments costing not much more in cash.
