An Indonesian passenger plane carrying 174 people skidded off the runway in heavy rain while landing on the island of Batam today, injuring five people, an airline spokesman and a doctor said.

All Indnonesian airlines are in our banned list (being an EU based company) and no way i would be in a hurry to fly any from what i hear.

Seriously, Indonesian airlines are fast becoming so bed they're worse than the bad old (some would say current) Aeroflot days.

They have officially gone down for the count...

"The airline would be grounded until it was evaluated again in another three months, and would have its air operator certificate - a separate safety certification - permanently removed if no improvements were found."

It's good to connect a cause with the shutdown of the airline. It must be showing Indo aviation safety in a really bad light.
