Accor Stay Plus FREE Night Allocation and Availability

It’s an available as a Stay Plus but not great value to use IMHO unless you haven’t got anything better in mind.
The Pullman HaiPhong is $250 for the 2 nights or $125 if you use Stay Plus

Thank you for checking and appreciate the advice.

Accor Plus will unlock a Red Hot Room discount for the Sofitel in Hanoi, saving me ~$220 (which I plan to also use in conjunction with 2x SNUs, hope that works). If I can save another $125 here then I've made most of it back and have another stay plus night for "free".

Yes., you can use SNU in conjunction to RRH rate.
Just check with the individual property though as the SNU can be priced from a higher room than basic so for example a base room maybe $300 per night but they will use your SNU to upgrade from a higher tier room worth maybe $600-700 per night. If you can can the Metropole with a nice upgrade for $600-700 per night I’d count that as a win

Issue resolved now. I had multiple emails going with both Accor Plus and the hotel directly. I suspect the Loyalty Lobby article and John reaching out directly to his Accor Plus contacts in Singapore is what finally got this resolved. So I've managed to get amazing value out of the free night of over $1600 AUD!

There are still some things that are off though. Raffles Bali requires a two paid nights to use the free night. That exclusion isn't covered on the Accor Plus website. Not an issue for me as it's a 5 night booking.

I had intended to part pay with points. Now this is actually mentioned on the Accor Plus website, but during the booking process it out rightly says you can, but when it comes to the payment screen there is no option to pay with points

Not a major issue as I just split the 5 nights up into a 3 night booking paid for plus the one free night and a two night booking using points. Luckily for me, this was roughly the split in points payment I was aiming for anyway.

So in short, lots of just made up stuff and inconstancies, but stunning free night value to be had. This literally has more than paid for the cost of my platinum Amex which is how I have Accor Plus and the free night.

I can't see this lasting long term though. Suggest making hay while the sun shines.

Good to see that your hotel has played ball. Looks like plenty still aren't in SIN themselves. (30 unavailable for end of Nov weekend for example).

Lots of inconsistencies.

Would someone mind checking the Sofitel Hanoi for me please, Nov 16-18:

Thanks

Now that I'm staring at maybe going to Buahan... I'm wondering if I should bother embarking on this email journey or just embrace what you have done here and take raffles.

Ah I forgot about that part. Well to Raffles it is then. Thanks for the work.

I'm genuinely curious what Buahan would be like. Not sure I can bring myself to stay at a hotel without walls for the room. Mozzies are not my friend and how do they keep it cool?

There are nets around the beds and roll down 'walls' which I guess might keep the bugs at bay. No idea about temperature regulation though. Rainforests are typically hot and sweaty environments!
