Accor Plus Membership Discussion

I directed my Plat A+ to another account, same name, different email as otherwise would not have got use of AMEX paying for it this year.

I was sent this offer today (I let my A+ membership lapse at the end of last year):

Elevate your ALL membership with new benefits and instant rewards.

As an Accor Plus Explorer member, enjoy a free night, up to 50% off stays & dining, exclusive offers, events and more.

A 20 Status Nights bonus will instantly boost your ALL status and, for a limited time, we’ll gift you 3,000 Reward points* towards stays, dining and more.

Offer ends 2 July... don’t miss out.
Basically the same as the QBR offer I posted earlier EXCEPT there’s an extra 10k points.

I’ve got to end of July for the QBR offer. Might mark time to see if something better arrives!

In Indonesia currently there is similar offer also, plus referral offer going on..
so if currently you are Accorplus member with 2 stayplus, and can refer 3 newly to Accorplus member joining 1 stayplus membership (with 3,000 reward points), you can get automatic renewal (2 stayplus)

Nb: other country citizen can also join Indonesia's accorplus only need email/whatsapp that never join Accorplus, of course the additional vouchers can only be used in Indonesia (free breakfast/ugprade, birthday cake)

First, an apology - I'm sure its been answered somewhere up-thread, but just for me to be sure ...

My Accor Plus Discover renews in August; I have been Plat this past year and strictly will only have enough stays for gold for next year.

However, as the status for the coming year is the higher of the past two, I will continue to be Plat under Plus if I renew. Correct?

* If I don't renew Plus, will my Plat continue with 'ordinary' Accor?

Why is it usually advised to take out Plus late in the year?

You will be whatever you achieved last calendar year, or this calendar year to date.
Obviously, if you renew late in the year, you have a better chance of it being the current year. Play it right, and you only have to renew once every two years.

Yes - if it were me, @RooFlyer , and depending on whether you’d be missing out on A+ stay or restaurant discounts if you deferred renewal beyond August, I’d be looking at letting the membership lapse in August and sign up again in December. That way you’ll stretch Platinum out to Dec 2026 and have the whole year to build status again in 2026, else fall to Gold in 2027

Cheers,
Matt

My A+ also expires at the end of August.

I've decided to let it lapse (becoming a 'regular' Accor platinum member) and renew it in December (or November if there's a Black Friday special) as I only have one stay planned in September.

Renewal of A+ should allow me to get another year of platinum in 2026 (based on the 60 status nights I achieved in 2024), while in 2027, barring another fast track offer, I'll drop to gold (as I'll have 14 stay nights and 20 status nights from renewing A+ in 2025).
