Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Peppers Palm Cove was pretty good last trip for me. A la carte and accepts the Accor Plus discounts.
 
Received an email recently regarding 2x Reward point for dining in June.
"Whether it's a business lunch, romantic dinner, or social gathering, enjoy 2X Reward points during the entire month of June. Exclusive to members of ALL, simply settle your bill with your linked VISA or Mastercard at participating restaurants and bars in the Pacific."

Why do these offers always limit ot Visa/MCard - whilst I have a linked Visa and Mastercard I prefer to pay by Amex (more points) and have yet to come across a Accor property that doesnt accept Amex in Australia.

For whatever reason, Australian issued Amex cards can't be linked in the App to this.

If you look at the participating properties, in some cases it is Visa only, and in other cased Mastercard only. Something to do with the way the data is captured behind the scenes.

But it needs to be further linked in the App to Dining Rewards. It's this step that allows the network (Visa/Mastercard) to monitor for transactions on the account (similar to how you register cards in the Qantas for specific offers on your card). When the network sees the transaction, the details are sent to Accor in order to award points.
Presumably, Amex doesn't offer this monitoring for Australian cards.
 
Im pretty sure I got Accor points for dinning at hotel resturant in April, just charged to my room and settled the bill with AMex.

I never use the App will have to see what extra linking is required, I usually just given them my Accor Plus card to ensure any benefit is assigned and it is all ok

You'll always get the points when charging to your room, regardless of how you settle the bill when checking out.

This is uniquely for spend at the restaurant using a participating card when NOT staying at the hotel. The card processing networks (in this case Visa and Mastercard) have agreements in certain regions to share data with Accor when you opt-in.

I'd need to double check the T&C, but I suspect you would be giving Accor access to all your spend data - the same way QFF gets access to spend data on QFF cards.

I think it is just the specific transaction data they need. Accor being French and the GDPR and all that.
 
I’ve got a stay tomorrow night at the Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour. Have an Executive Room Queen Darling Harbour View booked without breakfast.

I’ve received an email this morning offering 2 x upgrade offers. One is for an upgrade to an Executive Suite Queen Darling Harbour View for $36 and the other is for breakfast at $25/pp.

Questions for those with greater knowledge…

As an Accor Plus Gold Member, am I likely to get a free upgrade to the suite as the next available room category (not that I really care about it to be honest), and if I just took up breakfast on the day, would I be able to use the Accor Plus membership to get 2 x breakfast for the price of one (as I’m staying with my partner)?

Appreciate any advice.

Assuming it's a participating restaurant, then yes, breakfast should be 50% off if two people are dining with Accor+

I'm looking to start using and level-up status with Accor ALL this year, as I move off Marriott Bonvoy as one of my preferred programs, and the Accor+ program has caught my eye for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons I've found - and I can't quite get my head around - is of a potential extension to ALL status, with the renewal of Accor+ membership.

I'm currently ALL Gold, by virtue of the QFF status gift, but with a few suite stays in Jul/Aug this year, I will jump the spend threshold and be ALL Platinum through at least 31 Dec 2024, even assuming no other stays. If I was to join Accor+ this year, as well, and then renew that in 2024, would that push my ALL Platinum status across to the end of 2025? If yes, is this a perpetual thing, or you need to requalify every second year for it to work?

Edit to add - this is the part on status from the T&Cs that I can't quite decipher (my bolding):
2.7. On joining the Accor Plus programme, you will be automatically enrolled into ALL – Accor Live Limitless, Accor’s global lifestyle loyalty programme, with Elite Silver membership status. Terms and conditions relating to ALL – Accor Live Limitless, Accor’s global lifestyle loyalty programme can be found at www.all.com;

(a) Accor Plus members automatically qualify for Elite Silver status and are never downgraded to Classic status, provided the member renews their Accor Plus membership.
(b) Accor Plus members are assessed differently from members of ALL – Accor Live Limitless, Accor’s global lifestyle loyalty programme, for Status tiers assessment. Accor Plus Status tier assessment is based on the following rules:

At the time of your Accor Plus membership renewal, the Status tier will be assessed based on the Eligible Status Nights or Status points earned during one of the two periods:

1. The current calendar year
2. The previous calendar year

The highest number of eligible nights spent or Status points earned during one of these two periods, will determine your new Status.

(c) If, during the previous calendar year or the current calendar year, you did not reach a threshold allowing maintenance of your current Status, you will have a Status corresponding to your activity during these two periods

Can anyone confirm if Dixson and Sons (at the Porterhouse Hotel Sydney) is a participating restaurant for the Accor Plus 50% dining discount? I asked them when they first opened last year and the staff member said they'd check with the team...but never bothered to get back to me. I tried making a dummy booking on the reservation widget but there's no specific mention of the dining discount.

If your AccorPlus membership date is in December, then yes, you only have to qualify every second year.

(Same is true for other membership dates, but depending on the month of membership, you could have a very short window to renew in!)

Accor advertised it as participating when the restaurant opened late last year:


But they also advertised Henry's Bread & Wine, which is officially not participating anymore. YMMV, I'd definitely suggest calling first, and be ready for a bit of healthy debate when presented with the bill.
