Accor - Platinum Benefits?

Just stayed at Novotel BNE airport - early check in as requested. excellent staff assistance - no outside noise at all - lobby computers were down - no comp of drinks, internet etc

I stayed there the other week and got a room upgrade but when I asked for the welcome drink, I was told that it was one or the other (upgrade or drink). I said "Not on your website" and after she grumbled, I got a welcome drink as well.

Stayed at Sofitel Broadbeach over the weekend and Platinum benefits not recognised, no internet, no upgrade. No welcome drink - I asked reception and said they have run out of drink vouchers. She said she'll check up on it and that I need not worry because an amenity will be sent to our room. Fantastic amenity (NOT) 2 very small chocolates and 2 strawberries on a platter with a bottle of water.

Another visit to reception and had to ask for complementary internet access. Again they wanted to sell me a 2 hour voucher for $12.50. At the same time thought I would ask why no upgrades. Apparently they inform all the member that they are fully booked but obviously they are not! It was school holidays however the hotel was not busy. I suppose too over priced for families with their $26 hamburgers and $42 breakfast.

when I was there on Thursday night I noticed all the reception staff had a print out of all Le Club Benefits for each membership level at their computer. Not sure if they are using it or not. I was told though that they are getting a lot of positive comments about participating in Le Club.

Pullman Albert park at the moment- plat recognition (emailed beforehand to check what was offered), advised exec lounge 'closed til further notice' upon checkin. Given breakfast for two in restaurant and two drink vouchers. Same room but on a high floor, with a Lake view. Good value for price, but would really like lounge to be open (or more drink vouchers!). feels like AFL central.

Is the lounge at the Pullman Albert Park still closed? I called the hotel to double check but they wouldn't confirm either way, just kept repeating "we cannot guarantee it will be open during your stay (end of October)" - doh !

Its often open during the week but closed in the weekend. Pot luck really.

Stayed there a couple of years ago their Executive rooms are a con in "Executive lounge"
you can only get a coffee or soft drink that's it. Would never stay there again. Pullman Hyde Park is the only one in Sydney that provides Executive Lounge access for Platinum members.

Was a second short stay for this year & was delighted once again.
Though an upgrade was to be subject to availability, I wanted the same room category as previous stay so booked the same room config.
Spacious luxury room & delightful views over the Andaman Sea
Perfect all round experience & more pleasant weather on this occasion.
Usual flowing platinum benefits of welcome drinks, personally ushered to room, enhanced room amenities, laundry service, follow up calls from guest services.
The weekly coughtail hour/s shared amongst guests & with the charming Australian manager Brett was a delight in a gorgeous location.
All staff/hosts extending their Thai smiles & professional abilities throughout the resort.
Looking forward to an additional sojourn soon.

Have never had an issue getting lounge access at pullman in Brisbane, reasonably basic food offer but will pretty much get you any beer you want

They tend to have a reasonable selection of wine too.

Pullman Saigon 20/11-25/11. I booked into the executive suite and was upgraded to the Personality/honeymoon suite. Excellent for the honeymoon or for reminiscing earlier conquests. The staff were brilliant throughout the stay full stop. My platinum card was expired ( to a lower level), but this was not a problem. Highly recommended.

They go to a lot of effort with the food but the wines are ordinary. However,I forced myself each night to eat soft cheeses on bread washed down with a Bordeaux vins du pay. Life is hell if you don't weaken.

I did inquire with Voyages before I booked the trip about LeClub perks and what to expect as a Platinum member, but they told me they are only Accor "affiliate" so you can earn and redeem points but they do not acknowledge status. Well, had the opposite experience when checking in: First, they have a Priority check-in/out line, and second the lady behind the counter specifically said we got upgraded to an Uluru-view room "because you are a valued Accor Platinum member". Also received free wifi. Very happy.

Following on from the above, I just realised I received both Accor LeClub and Velocity points for my stay. Had originally booked it with my LeClub number in the booking, but then at check-in asked for the Velocity points to be credited instead (which she confirmed is no problem, but it's one or the other). Not complaining.

I am staying at The Menzies, Sydney this weekend. I am Platinum member. What benefits can I expect/not expect to receive? I can't see anything about the Menzies brand on the Accor website. Thanks.
