Not even worth signing up for Accor Platinum if they can't offer this to their elites.

not even worth signing up for the free platinum handed out to anyone with access to google?

Yep that's what I'm saying particularity if your just doing stays in Australia. Accor has so much promise but fails to deliver on numerous occasions.

It's still worth it for the extra points if anything! Why not? It's FREE!

I can confirm the following at Sebel Suites Brisbane: Upgrade from a standard to premium 1-bed apartment on top floor, drink voucher, breakfast and 1pm checkout extended to 4pm

Unfortunately they have ditched the a la carte selection for breakfast for Premium rooms, which was very good, in favour of the standard hot slop you find everywhere, and they make you pay for barista coffee which was included before. On the plus side they finally installed wireless internet in 2013 ...

Certainly worth it for Asia!

Just checked in Novotel BKK airport as a plat.

Got halfway through checking me in then suddenly the red carpet was rolled out, whisked away to the executive lounge to finish check in, welcome drink, upgraded to an executive room, given free internet, welcome chocolates and fruit, 4 bottles of water and 25% off spa voucher which I may use tomorrow. Free breakfast and just had dinner in the lounge which was quite substantial.

So far so good!

Agreed - checked in 12:45am at Mercure Roxy Singapore and was advise I had been upgraded to a better room (not on executive level) but had access to the top floor lounge and I would be welcome there for breakfast.

Blearily I remember this and rechecked this morning - indeed that was the case.

I had a breakfast inclusive rate so I had a choice between the lounge and the main buffet restaurant. :D

The executive rooms are quite nice at Mercure Roxy SIN.

The Sebel Surry Hills Sydney - absolutely nothing,

Welcome back to Accor in Australia ;)

I have never been overwhelmed by the way that Sebel has embraced being part of Accor. Other than a plaque on the wall, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of alignment.

I still think that it is amazing that individual properties can opt out of the Accor loyalty program.

Novotel @ MEL on Collins

Free internet

1pm check out

Nothing else!

BTW, had to prompt them for those two extras

Recently stayed at the Sofitel Washington - Platinum - got zip, other than an upgrade to an outward facing room, which meant traffic noise and a view of the Wells Fargo Bank or some such. Couldn't be bothered complaining about welcome gift and drink.
Fast forward 2 weeks - at Sofitel Scribe Paris today. I flash my Platinum card (a la DYKWIA, Drewbles!) and the reception guy begs my pardon while he makes a quick call. 5 seconds later the Guest Relation Manager appears and takes over my check-in. Personal escort to our upgraded room, shows me how to get free wifi, points out the chocolate gift, hands me a welcome drink card for two and gives me his card!
What a difference.

Sofitel Wentworth Sydney today, early check in at 09:30, chocolates, fruit platter, large bottles of water, welcome letter.

No but it's peak season and when I called at 2:30am this morning to request early check in, I was advised the hotel was full and it may not be possible. So I wasn't expecting anything but the standard room. I may be wrong but I recall no lounge access in SYD or MEL. ?recent website update.

Tbh I'd rather mingle downstairs. There's a gatsby themed function here and the guys and girls look sensational.

On way to Mercure Parramatta staying there for Bon Jovi. Interesting to see if we get "platinum" treatment.
