Hello Everyone

Work have put me on an annoying international flight that gets into Brisbane after 2200 Tuesday with my flight to Sydney at 0735 (?) Wednesday morning.

Accommodation is being provided but is quite a distance from the airport (will have cab-charges). It will take me a while to clear Quarantine so am faced with 3 choices.

1. Maybe sleep from midnight to 0500 at my allocated accom.

2. At own expense put myself up in a hotel in the city.

3. Sleep on a lounge in the international check in area then at 0530 head to domestic, check in then shower in the QP.

Maybe I should ask for the Sydney flight to be shifted back a few hours.....? That would make it 4 choices I guess!

Thank you!

Karen

How flexible are the tickets that you have been booked on? Do they allow changes without penalty?

Hi Karens,
There is a Formule 1 hotel (part of the Accor group) near Virginia, about 5 mins by Taxi from International Terminal, cheap and basic, but ideal to lay your head. Then have early breaky at the QP before your flight.
Cheers Dee

There are quite a few places between BNE and the city.

Basically all you need is a clean comfortable place to rest your head for a few hours.

Back when it was a choice Hotel I often stayed in Northgate Motor Inn it met the above criteria and was close to where my meetings were.

Of course even with somewhere nearby you are only going to get around 6 hours sleep, maybe if you endeavor to sleep as much as possible on the inbound to BNE flight and crash at the airport.

What would be a deal breaker for me is what you intend to do once you arrive into Sydney. Work? Home?

Formule 1 is probably your best bet that late into the night. Otherwise your up for a longer cab in and out of the city.

If it was me though, and I didn't have work the next day I'd be kippng in he terminal and having a fresher and brekkie in the QP.

Thank you everyone. My bosses tried to get me on the earlier flight back to Oz but the lowly pleb who booked it was power tripping and refused (obviously jealous I'm on a tropical island and he's not). It turned out good because I'm just finishing packing!

I'm thinking I'll decide spontaneously on what to do once I clear customs. Casino is looking like a plan - wonder if their cloak room will take 2 large bags while I party the night away? ;) Kidding, probably go crash at the work accom and hope for a little sleep. Although people watching at the airport could rock after I build a luggage fortress.
