Accessing Qantas lounge hack in Singapore without QF/JQ flight?

Hiya all,

I'm traveling through Singapore next week and will be flying on Singapore airlines as Qantas lost my luggage last time around. I'm a Qantas gold member and normally use the lounge but this time won't be able to with the Singapore airlines ticket,

I've found it to be incredibly easy in any of the domestic airports if I've got a flight with Virgin. Turns out the scanners used at the lounge desk to scan the tickets will only work on physical paper tickets and not the QR codes they send from the online check in. Easy enough to do a photoshop job on an old ticket and then be let in like that.
Does anyone know if this would work on the Lounge in Singapore? Do their scanners work on the QR codes or have any pother hack that might let you sneak in easily? Also would this be a big red flag on your file if caught? I wouldn't bother normally, but its an 11h layover and I really would like to use the facilities.

Alternatively I was thinking I could book a very cheap Jetstar flight out of Singapore as I've seen them for as little as $30 sometimes.

Cheers

They definitely do scan the 2D barcodes (at least at SYD and MEL, but the scanners look the same to me anywhere), although I suppose they'll let you in based on what's displayed on your phone screen if it fails to scan.

Before I realized you're not meant to scan your code for on-arrivals access, I've scanned a OLCI 2D barcode at the scanner and had the lounge agent tell me "wrong boarding pass, that was your flight to Sydney".

Please be aware that in Singapore it's illegal to access airside with no intention to travel (e.g. Man arrested in Singapore Changi Airport for buying ticket just to wave his wife off at the gate). Of course in this instance you do intend on travelling, but I'm unsure how they would feel towards you carrying two BPs, one with no intention to travel if you do get found out.

Last time I went through the Singapore Business lounge they had no facility to print out a boarding pass for me or modify my seating, so I suspect they don't have much ability to look up a booking. Read into that what you will.

Let me ask this plainly: are you after some way to commit fraud to get into the QF lounge? If so and you’re happy to accept the risks, then knock yourself out. The 3K ticket path may well be an answer and has enough ‘grey’ that you can get a fix of free wine and food.

However, the answer I’d suggest is to just go to a pay for use lounge. Or the airside hotels. Or use the airside pool. Or take advantage of the free Singapore city tour if such things have recommended. You are in one of the best airports in the world for a longer connection!

If daytime, personally, I’d take a sports bag with a change of clothes, enter Singapore, go down to the east coast park, hire a bike and go riding along the foreshore, stopping to snack at the frequent cafes and restaurants along the path. Get outside the aircon. Enjoy the tropics.

How much do you value your current gold status with QF if they catch you contravening rules and close your QFF account?

This is now a few threads discussing how to get into a lounge for a few hours before a flight without entitlement.

I struggle to understand the lengths that some will take just to get into a lounge. Just purchase entry into a SATS lounge. They're not horrible lounges and ok to spend a few hours away from crowds.

Whenever in SIN (or the country/city in general), remember this:

Judging by the question asked in this thread, I feel there needs to be another image with a lounge and a red circle with a line through it titled "No lounge hacks by way of altering QR codes or vice versa"!

Does that look like the old QF Lounge ? Unlikely but looks great
