Hi everyone,

I had to recently change my flight to Tasmania from Perth and now I am travelling through Sydney.

First leg is on Jetstar (rough!) and then opted Sydney to Launceston in Business class with Qantas. Do I get access to the business class lounge if I booked using points? I have a 6 hour wait between flights so really hoping so!

Cheers!

You certainly should get access.

Class of travel is what matters here, not how it was booked or the means of paying the fare.

Does anyone know where the Jetstar gate is in relation to the Qantas one? And if i have to leave the airport and recheck in to use the lounge?

Jetstar use terminal 2 Qantas use terminal 3. So you'll need to change terminals no matter what. I would have thought also rechecking luggage, but you may already have the boarding pass.

When you arrive at SYD T2 you'll need to pick up your bag from the T2 baggage carousels, walk across the road to T3, then go up the escalators to Qantas departures. It's about a 200m walk and entirely undercover.

If you don't have a Q Bag Tag, use one of the self serve kiosks to print a paper bag tag (and boarding pass if you need one) then go to the bag drop conveyor belts to drop your bag. If you have a Q Bag Tag and a QFF card or boarding pass on your phone you can skip the self serve kiosk and go straight to bag drop.

Once your baggage is dropped, go through T3 security, turn left and and head up to the lounge. Qantas lounge to gate doesn't take more than about 5 or 6 minutes in Sydney.

You can also use the tunnel to the train station, which is underground inbetween the two terminals.
