It's totally NOT correct.

QF gold is oneworld sapphire. This allows entry to all oneworld international business class lounges.

Which airport is she at?

As a QF gold she should get access to lounge flying any Oneworld airline

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Qantas have modified thier lounge access page. But as a QF Gold then CX*CX should allow for access.

Well she didn't get in and went to Coffee Club instead and shelled out for breakfast. V poor form and has happened before when she flew JAL. Same lounge.

Thanks serfty. I have a feeling she will follow this up...where is a good place to start...she is about to board now so will have to be later.

Very strange.
Would be correct if on FJ (both previously and now that it's joined oneworld connect).

Assume wife is on the flight via CNS - CX146

Would love to know the reason why she was denied access as it appears to go against all rules. I would definitely be trying to get some form of compensation.

This should be followed up with Qantas Frequent Flyer - by email would be ok. I'd advise your wife to keep the receipt from the cafe (or extract from bank statement) and attach it to the email asking for reimbursement.

I assume she had the QF FF number in the booking/ on the boarding pass ? Not another FF program? That’s been reported - trying to get in with QF gold but crediting to another program. It sounds odd that she wouldn’t get access as anyone working at a QF international lounge should know who the oneworld members are.

If on a QF flight number - irrespective of operating carrier - she should have had access anyway.

Certainly in SYD 18 months ago, QF lounges were requiring CX to give you a lounge invite a t check-in as otherwise CX wouldn't pay QF.
