Yeah I get the same. I have got in to the habit of actually closing the app. I.e on the iPhone double clicking the home button and swiping up. Doing this after each browsing session seems to work. Annoying when I forget to though and get the dreaded message!

I still get the access denied message when using the app on both my iPhone and iPad. I rarely use the online log in and mainly use the app. Ironically it just happened when I tried to post on this thread, after posting quite a few times already tonight on other threads, the message is I was not logged in, but I was. This is my third go to post this message.

I get it too, only on iphone. Then i have to retype my entire message. Very frustrating.

Constant issues with this error on iPhone. Has had several effects: 1. Only bother participating in a thread if I am willing to log-out and back in to post a reply, often not worth the effort. 2. Starting to wonder why I pay membership, where login access on the app is the main benefit. Non-members can browse but not post in the app - only difference is that I pay subscription to browse and still not be able to post (without major hassle).

This is the exact thing that has been happening to me and I've pretty much stopped posting and just browsing. It's just too much hassle to log out and log in again every time. For that reason I wasn't going to subscribe again either if I'm mostly just browsing now.

So to give credit where it is due, after Sam's post I had no issues using the app. I've posted successfully for several days so figured it was fixed. Alas, it just happened trying to reply to this very topic.

The other annoying thing is when you get the You are not logged in to post message is that you lose the message and have to re-type it.

I think the problem is the deep links don't auto-login after your session expires, but the http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community page does.

Workaround if you get an access denied error:
1. Load http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community (refreshes the session)
2. hit back and reload, and it should work fine

Should be fixable on the forum site... I've seen no other sites with this problem...

I assume you are using the browser version not the App.

Looks like you are not logged in when trying to access that page. AFF limits the number of pages a "visitor" (or someone who is not logged in) can see, so they need to login. They get an "Access Denied" message until they login.

No it is not that. Even though I am logged in I get the access denied page.

Not sure if the timeout value is related when posters seem to be complaining about being logged out mid browse. Could it be something to do with their account? I have my facebook account linked to the site so it may be that.

The app is being worked on. As there hasn't been an update I wouldn't expect it to be fixed until there is one. I actually ran into the issue yesterday, but usually I'd lose the post and this time I was able to copy it and then it gave me the option to save or discard it too.

i can't keep track of the posts i've lost. Wrote a well thought out and long reply on my phone earlier and got the access denied.
I'm going to delete the app til ts fixed so i don't run into this problem again.
