People behaving badly is not limited to any one nationality or demographic. Given we are the largest and closest western nation to both Bali and coughet, and it is relatively inexpensive to get over there, it is of no surprise that the large majority of people behaving badly will be Aussies...

Furthermore, what is your definition of behaving badly? Sure, get into fights = behaving badly and they should be punished for it (be it spend a night in the cells, be it removed from the country), but is a person going from bar to bar means that they are really behaving badly? So what if they spend the next day nursing a hangover but with plans of doing it again that night? Why do you really care how people chose to enjoy a destination?

Perhaps rather than looking down your noses at these people, go over and say "G'Day", it could just be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...

If your problem is with people enjoying their alcohol a little too much, well that pretty much discounts you being friends with most of AFF... Every AFF gathering I've ever been to has always involved "a little too much alcohol"...

Do you think I have been avoided going to Fiji, Bali for fun? Plus I only ever spent 3 nights in coughet which was more than enough.

I've been to Fiji twice, both times on a 747 and didn't encounter any bogans in the air or on the ground. I believe JQ flies there, but you just need to pick your hotel wisely

I visited coughet 18 months ago for 2 nights (never again), while there were certainly a high level of Western Sydney bogans (shazza and bazza dressed in fake 'tapout' and 'billabong' attire) I personally found the high concentration of Russian (scumbags too harsh?) unbelievable. The self entitlement and absolute rudeness was incredible.

Give me an Aussie bogan over a Russian bogan any day of the week.

As for JQ i've flown long haul to Japan 4-5 times over the past couple of years on JQ, no bogans. similar experience to HNL.

It may be an Aussie trait - but at least we can recognise and comment on our worst stereotypes. However, I could not agree more about the comment about Russians in coughet. I fly JQ international at least a couple of time a year and have never encountered any greater problem than I do on QF.

i often chuckle wondering if there is a dirt file/flag for some of us pax who occasionally go a little overboard ... mine would tell some interesting stories and i'm sure "bogan alco" would be in there somewhere ... i do hope my behaviour on the 90% of flights i do makes up for the 10% when i party a little too hard and push the boundaries

There are 'bogans' from all nationalities - just try being in pretty much any city in Spain that Ryanair or Easyjet fly to on a weekend. Full of drunken English, Irish, Scottish, Polish, Russians, Germans...and always a few Aussies as well.

The best way to live life, in my opinion, is to go about your own business and let others do the same, unless their behaviour significantly impacts upon my personal space, safety or enjoyment of something I paid for.

Also, are you still a bogan if you only fly JQ for the FLounge access on those SYD - MEL runs? ;-)

I'd have to say, you're a pretty big bogan if you chose to do an FLounge run on JQ... Think about it, you're flying JQ (bogan behaviour), your scoring free food (bogan behaviour) and free booze (bogan begins with a "B" right?), which is only available to those using status (give me a "B"), which of course, bogans are all about status. Besides there are lots of people who think that FLounge runs are a pretty big waste of time and money (these people say the same things about a lot of the things which bogans like as well).

I'd say that's pretty conclusive evidence...

Not sure - I think you also need to reside in Mt Druitt, like a drink and fly to destinations that 95% of the Australian population like visiting

I cannot justify spending that much money on hotel rooms. Fiji, Bali and coughet are not for me.

Funny. I travel to Fiji and/or Bali once or twice a year to go scuba diving, and the worst I come across now is the entitled princess. Experience has taught me how to avoid the bogans as much as possible, but then you run into those with DYKWIA entitlement syndrome. Don't know what's worse sometimes.
