AAdvantage Card

[Sequel]

Just recieved my AA AAdvantage card (first points recorded in early september). I think the one I printed out on the computer is of better quality! Maybe I have been spoiled with the QFF card, and I suppose I would prefer cheaper flights than a fancy card, but I was a little supprised.

Anyone know if the AA Plat cards are any better? And will it take as long as the original card to be delivered?

I'll also be interested to know this sequel. I joined AAdvantage mid-August and got first miles (1,000) shortly after by opting into getting e-mailed newsletters etc. (though the card, which arrived yesterday, came by snail mail). Yes, the card is a little flimsy, but as you say, better that the value is received in other areas!!

Sorry I don't know. But as a side note (OT i know) the best companies in Japan are printed on the thinest business cards (Sony, Honda, Mitsubishi Trading ...). You're considered a "try hard" if you have a great card and are not famous. Just a sidebar that the biggest is not always cool in some parts of the world .

The Plat cards are plastic cc like cards.

Also, note that the AA cards numbers can get "washed off"
by constant rubbing.

My AA Plat card is about the same thickness as my Qantas Club card. Standard credit card stiffness.

The AA card has my name, number and validity printed on it (so the card is completely flat), whereas the QP card has the details stamped (making the letters and numbers raised).

I have never felt the desire to employ "constant rubbing" to see whether the printing will come off the Plat card. :shock:

Sequel, it took the AA Plat card betwen 10-14 days to arrive from the moment my M-i-L's flights posted on her AAccount.

P.S. We paid for our Jamaican accom this week (Couples Negril) and got the required reading from our Contours Travel rep. Now to devour it.

I received mine last week as well. Looks like it is desigend to flex through the rollers of a laser printer. I took it off the paper it was attached to, then it looked so fragile I tried to stick it back in case it broke.

I received mine too just a cpl of days ago.

They must have just sent out a batch to Aussies!

Agree it's thin. But hey, it cost me nothing, so I'm not complaining.
