Hi

after a recent trip to the US, my internal AA flights were not appearing in my statement. I called QF FF and scanned the boarding passes.
Why does AA not appear in the drop down list of Partners where you can claim missing miles.

It is interesting to see people complain about Qantas - as we are entitled to. (And I have) but a few trips internally in the US always brings one back to reality. American Airlines - unbelievable by comparison, and the same with US Air.

At LGA, the US Air lounge has no monitors and does not call flights. How does THAT work ?

In the AA Lounge at JFK they call some flights ( international- but not all) and not other.

And if you are not there, despite checked bags and checking in hors previously, they WILL give your seat away.

I almost had another night in Queens I could have done without.

It is a little annoying that claiming of missing AA miles requires sending copies of BPs in. On the plus side with OLCI and nice pdfs of BPs, it is quite easy to email these days

As far as not calling flights goes, that is the same as BA in the UK and is, imo, actually a positive; flight announcements are quite annoying in lounges imo and just checking the screen is quite easy and I find the AA policy of only calling major flights is a good one ... Not been to US air lounge but no announcements and no screens sounds odd

AA has a policy that requires being at the gate by a certain time at which point they will start processing standby requests. Since they allow standby on all domestic fares, if the flight has people waiting for a seat, it seems reasonable to release the seat if the passenger fails to meet their requirements

I'm pretty sure the US lounges I've been in have screens...

..I appreciate the lack of announcements too...with the number of US flights out of..say, CLT... it would be non-stop!

Yes, most US lounges I have been in have screens, but this did not. I even asked. I don't mind if flights are not called. After a while you don't hear them anyway, but the lack of screens was just plain weird.

I asked the service person in the lounge, and she said hurry they are boarding. I got there to the gate and waited 45 minutes for the a/c to arrive....

That combined with every time I boarded a flight in the 4 internal sectors, I had 90 -120 minutes delay either at the gate on actually on the tarmac.

It was quicker to drive from Oneida NY ( 4.5 hours) that get a car/cab out to LGA from Manhattan and then drive at the other end. But that's why trains are good in North Eastern US and of course most of Europe.

Welcome to AFF mainly4work :D

Things work differently in the US and it is always a good idea to be at the gate ½ an hour before scheduled boarding (unless you are CERTAIN the flight is delayed).

Though my last 7 QF sectors have not automatically posted to AA.Fortunately AA has changed their missing points so QF sectors can be done online. So the problems are definitely not all one way.
