Therein lies your answer. The leisure markets are better served by long haul LCC. Currently there are no long haul LCC in the US let alone any that will do a transpacific. Alternatively why would they go transpacific when lets of similar sightseeing can be gotten a few hours flight to the Bahamas or Mexico?
Yes canada has & has had long haul lccs & canada 3000, the launch customer for the A332 & one of the 1st long haul lccs, was apparently doing very well flying yvr bne syd direct before sep11 killed it off. Makes you wonder why air transat have never flown to Australia, nz or even Hawaii
 
TS does not have the aircraft to do long range operations. Their longest range is I believe an A330-200 which cannot do transpacific and which requires a YVR base. They have a small YVR base for mexico destinations but their majority of their operations are between YUL,YOW, YYZ and transatlantic, bahamas, mexico and some canada. Additionally, they would be in competition with WS for the HNL leisure market, so there is no benefit being in that part of the world

Considering even Qantas don’t have a year round route to Canada, and Jetstar don’t have a route to mainland USA, I don’t think a Canadian LCC route to Australia is likely anytime soon.

Wasn’t Air Transat the airline selling seasonal flights to Cancun (forget which Canadian airport it left from). In any case the aircraft didn’t have the range to do the return journey and every single time it flew it made an “unscheduled” stop in the USA. So perhaps they can do YVR to SYD with an unscheduled stop in HNL. Every time.

Genuinely interested as have never flown with them and have never been to the USA but the minister of finance has decided that we are headed there in November/December next year and I’m just starting to gather intel and suss out the options. Guess I can cross UA off the list 😂
 
UA has improved somewhat with the newer 787. It was terrible when they had the old old 747 on the transpacific - the ones with the overhead TV screens. And very senior FA who had terrible atitudes.

Ts has few different a332 seat configurations iirc.
Some 2 class approx 360 seats with3-3-3 in y.

The LCC model works best on a point to point route. So I can't see how this would work for a LCC or even a mainline carrier. AC also used to operate via HNL when they had the 767 but that stopped when they started to operate the 777.

FJ fly their a332s/333 lax/nan which is close to distance of yvr/nan. Tech stop in nan ?

But FJ hub is NAN. For anyone else and especially LCC, they wont do it because it adds a couple of hours each way. AC stopped doing HNL between AUS and YVR. Basically everyone else is going non-stop as well. Tells you something when FJ does not fly into Canada. I dont recall or know about any LCC route where the aircraft does a routine refueling stop?.

HA operates out of HNL and is somewhat a LCC but they are based in HNL but they dont do YVR either. WS operates to HNL though.

Essentially the transpacific distance is possibly too far for LCC operations for a variety of reason including more than 2 pilots, and the need for a premium end of the aircraft to make the numbers work.

FJ sell a lot of seats bne & syd/nan/sfo

They are often the cheapest.

With enough frequency crewing shouldn't be an issue.

Enter air of poland used to fly to Thailand in a 738 with tech stop at sharjah iirc
