Strange - I type in www. aa . com and it takes me to http://www.aa. com/index_us.jhtml
(obviously without the spaces).

Given Oz is not in teh drop down list - what makes you think we will get a .au page soon?

Check your cookies ... ;)

(OT: hint for URL's and the like - use the <text>tags)

Ahh cookies - never remember anything useful and always leave foul leeching rubbish behind...

I just went into the UK site of aa.com and tried a dummy booking for HNL-BOS-HNL selecting first/business.

The selection screen clearly showed the availability for "instant upgrade fares", which were about the same price as using the US site (AUS$2,300 rtn for 600-700 status credits depending on routing), although you need to go through a longer process on the US site (select first, then select flights and then select small link to cheaper options to get to see the discount first fares).
