yep ... Oz via asia to/from Europe is fine.
I have seen connections offered in SIN, NRT and KUL. HKG and BKK should be eligible as well.
Oh cool... I just "happen" to have just about 160k AA points

I think the 'pick of the bunch' would be JL SYD-NRT-Europe in F!
Thank you all for the feedback especially sergeyvzn and MEL_Traveller.
I am usually use more of a lifemiles program user.
Do they allow stopovers for a few days? is there a limit?
Cheers,

How many EQPs will a PER-xSYD-CBR earn in (a) N, G or S and (b) O or Q?
Discount Economy | N, G, S | 50% | – | .50 |
Discount Economy | O, Q | 25% | – | .50 |
Discount Economy N, G, S 50% – .50 Discount Economy O, Q 25% – .50
For N G S
Assuming miles of 2040 and 141 respectively and no AA status, 508 and 35
If AA status the 500 mile minimum EQM applies and the result becomes 508 and 125
For OQ and no AA status, 254 and 17. with AA status 254 and 62.
Rounding may vary.
Those earn rates and the preponderance of E class fares (which only earn on QF) did change my crediting pattern for QF domestic flights.
Happy wandering
Fred
So as an EXP my EQP would be just 508 plus 125 N, G and S or 62 in O and Q? Wow.
If I bump it up to K, L, M or V will the EQP become 508 plus 500?
I need my afternoon nap as the math now seems suspect.
Assuming status and 2040/141 mileage for the trip with AA status means a minimum of 500 EQM.
OQ is 25% miles and 50% EQP so 510 EQM/255 EQP and 500 EQM/ 250 EQP
NGS is 50% miles and 50% EQP so 1020 EQM/510 EQP and 500 EQM/ 250 EQP
KLMV is 50% miles and full EQP so 1020 EQM/1020 EQP and 500 EQM/ 500 EQP
Without the AA status (or even with it in OQ), it hurts...
Wake me up and I'll continue wandering...

the wife and i have just returned from our european trip we booked 12 months ago using us airways points - taking advantage of the experiences and advice from many on here.
Had a cracking trip up the front of the plane with the best being the qr 787 offering.
Just a big thank you to all - and lets hope the aud fights back

GIven I haven't booked a Europe trip on AA Miles yet - i have a query about the routing exceptions.
I note AA now let you go from Oceania to Europe via Doha as long as you are flying both sectors on QR
However I thought I read it had to be the same flight number - is that correct? Or am I getting confused with Qantas?

You can also route via Asia 1 (and possibly Asia 2) to Europe for the one South Pacific-Europe award cost.
