I am planning on flying FCO-HKG-SIN on CX in mid January.

Europe is a leisure trip and SIN is for business. Obviously the climate requires different attire, and I won't really need business stuff on holiday. I was thinking of leaving a carry-on bag with relatives in HKG and then getting them to come to the airport to give it to me when changing flights.

Is there any problem with clearing immigration when checked onto another flight? Would I be at fault (lose fare money) if the flight from Rome was delayed and getting the bag meant missing the connection?

I have had no trouble clearing immigration on transits such as this.

Is it all on the one booking? How long is the actual transit?

I arrive at 0700. Haven't booked the HKG-SIN leg yet but plan to do so on internet and ring up to get them linked. Looking at a 1100 flight - is 4 hours enough?

In HKG 4 hours will be more than enough.

As far as I am aware there are no issues clearing immigration during a transit in HKG.

Do note if you go back into departure area during a transit and then want to clear immigration then you need to get approval from the airline desk to show security. It comes in handy if wanting to have something to eat or having a shower during a transit before clearing immigration.
