Just noticed that Cambodia Airways operates fifth freedom flights between SIN and SYX, oddly the only non-stop service between the 2 cities

From Dec. 2025 Turkish starts with IST-BKK-PNH #TK052
But seems like the segment BKK-PNH is so far not 5th freedom.

somehow I woudl be surprise if they don't get 5th freedom there.

Apparently the existing PNH airport will cease ops on 08 Sep and from 09 Sep, ops move to the new Techo airport (KTI).

Surprised they’re switching codes. Didn’t HKG and BKK just take there code with them (and others?). From what I can tell, KTI (Kratie) is already in use…

Anyway, we’re booked to fly CX PNH to HKG (and then onto SYD) as a QF CR and received notification from QF of the change (they showed it as a cancelled flight and then a new flight - same CX flight code and times)...

September 8th final flight of EK SIN-PNH.

......and from 9th september Emirates SIN-KTI-SIN.
PNH is scheduled to close on 8th september and KTI is scheduled to open on 9th september.

Not surprised. Flight is designed to connect to/from their LAX and SFO flights so they're going to want high prices for local traffic. That said, over time expect them to discount heavily for short duration tickets or seasonal fluctuations. Margins cost is low, so they'll be happy to flog off empty seats at short notice.
