Y is considered to be a vowel if… The word has no other vowel: gym, my. The letter is at the end of a word or syllable: candy, deny, bicycle, acrylic. The letter is in the middle of a syllable: system, borborygmus.I was having trouble with it, and didn't guess it, but I went to the hints page.
Since when has the letter "y" been a vowel?

But I don't think it is a vowel at all. aeiou are vowels and h and y are not
We got taught this when we were quite young, i.e. that "y" can be considered a vowel. Just add to the list of "lies" we teach kids that makes it easier to learn things, which we then discover the truth when we're older and more understanding.
