Hi Guys,

Just a quickie.

On the 767's SYD-MEL they have rows 23 and 24 right at the front, sort of on their own - just wondering what the legroom is like on these (I'm 6'5" - so this is the no.1 priority for me) usually I am on the 737 and row 13 or 14 is the go, or on the 767 I have always chosen 34/35, but just wondering.

Thanks.
M

You are getting two of the 767 versions mixed up.

The type that has the mini cabin are the ex-BA 767's (which are on their way out), have the exit row as row 43, not 34/35. Row 23 does seem to have extra leg room, but Row 43 is the best exit row in a 767 type full stop.

The other few types (the -OG's) have their exit rows in 34/35, and aren't as great as 43 on the ZX's

I'd go 43 if its available, however keep an eye on the seat map as they can change and you'd end up in a normal seat

Thanks and yep - had the 'last minute plane switch' happen quite a few times - even once when I asked for our boarding passes to be printed at the lounge (and checked) with 45 minutes to go. Luckily it is only 1.5 hours, so a short yoga session!

Have my mum and sister in exit row 43 next week to CNS. Am I assuming right that if this is ex-BA the product won't be updated with iPads?

I am not 100% sure - but I would say you are assuming right - last time did that run it was the mini screens from ceiling

Correct -ZXC thru to G are ex BA and don't have the iPads.

After flying on a couple of -OGx's PER-BNE-PER the week before last and prior to that in late March flying -ZXD to SYD I find the ex BA ones to be far more spacious and comfortable.

The iPads are nothing to get your knickers twisted over either.

On the ZX's (no row 25), 23A/B/J/K (NOT 23D/E/F) have extra legroom at the floor (the cabin divider has a 40cm gap between it and the floor - legs fit nicely through.

Serfty, I think you mean there is no row 25 on the ZX* series. But you are right in that seats 23A/B/J/K has extra legroom in that the bulkhead does not go all the way to the cabin floor which makes it better than the equivalent counterparts on the OG* series 763s.

So is 34 or 35 better on the OG series as an exit row seat?

There are only a couple of those left in the fleet, as they do the run to HNL and NOU from memory.

Forget the negative feedback regarding the dreamtime seats, they are a decent seat domestically (better than the millennium, silver wing and recaro seats)

There are only four planes with this configuration and they do domestic runs in addition to flights to HNL and NOU (seeing that the two destinations only take up one to two aircraft at most).

Agreed, and not to bad internationally either ...

Due to various operational reasons, we cannot guarantee the aircraft type of a scheduled flight. In most cases a change to the scheduled operating aircraft is a result of a decision made on the day. Subject to availability, our ground staff may be able to assist in rebooking you onto an alternative flight.
