I've noticed that certain albums on the new QF 737 IFE - the on demand version will not play properly. One song will play then about 5 seconds from the end of the song it just locks in place, doesn't move to the next song. This happens when playing the album, putting the entire album over to a playlist, or putting individual songs into a playlist. Only an issue in row 4 were the screen has to be stowed for take off and landing thereby preventing manual intervention. Have submitted feedback, but not fixed. Specific albums are Dark side of the moon and the Rolling Stones. Might have to stick to Nick Cave.

Anyone else?

For at least the last 2 or 3 years when I feel like using the IFE I tend to listen to music and do so by making a playlist - a bit painful but usually have it done before take-off or levelling off at worst. But almost every time at some random point I get exactly the same scenario as you medhead. The list will just stop dead. Have to hit the next song manually. Sometimes that then persists for entire flight, occasionally it corrects itself. I gave feedback once a year or so ago and never got a reply. I just live with it, though does in part defeat the purpose of a playlist.

The music range is very poor though so I'm just as happy listening to a channel or my own music. Still beats the iPads which I can't stand and several on a flight I was on last night failed apparently. The range on the refurbed A330s is much, much better.

Generally, like you I can put together a playlist before take off. When sitting in row 4 of the 737 I like to have my own choice of music that plays while the screen is stowed. once the screen can be deployed, I'll watch a movie. The music range is enough to fill that gap. But this failure does defeat the purpose.
