Interesting. They're targeting the September anniversary members?
I'm not feeling lucky being a June anniversary member :(

June would have as much chance as any other date.
My anniversary is tomorrow and I received the offer yesterday.

Someone did mention algorithm as to the logic of this offer. I will only see logic if all people declare their anniversary FF date, as my theory (with very limited personal experience) is that you may tend to get it 1-2 months after anniversary. I got mine last year in early Aug (year begins 1/7) and promptly booked a flex Y to Rome in Sept/Oct to maximise the bonus so I can cruise into Gold without breaking the bank on overpriced tickets. I previously got to Gold by flying J over the ditch to AKL (80SC) the previous year (relatively better value than International J at 4 times fhe Y price), as you largely have to buy your way into Gold - if you are a mere leisure traveller rather than a Titan of Industry whose tickets are perhaps paid for.

My last two offers were in August 2014 (straight after I got back from a J trip with QF/EK to Europe) and this one on Monday (straight after I booked another J trip to Europe with QR). But my anniversary date is 31 December so it doesn't appear to hold for me.

Funnily enough the QR booking shows up in my QF account although some trips I had with MH in between did not appear at all (at least, until the points/SCs appeared in my account) so QF are aware of this booking - if only I had got the offer last week, they might have got some of my money!

My anniversary date is also towards the end of the year (Halloween) and both our offers are at exactly the same time (August 2014 and now February 2015 this week on Monday), so we should start comparing notes as to when we receive the next one...

I received one in October 2013 and February 24 this year. This data could be worthy of a spreadsheet ... Lol

I also received one late last year, and again this month. My anniversary date is end of May. Not sure what the correlation is

Interesting twist on my booking, I am sure the experts would be aware of this but I was not. I booked a ticket on the previous offer for 50% status points, expiring 31st Dec 2014. The original booking was made well before the expiry date (made 23rd Nov 2014)
However, in January my wife and I decided to stay an extra day in Melbourne, so at a cost of $450, we changed the return flight by a day.
Talking to the Qantas reps, it seems that in changing the date of the flight, the date of booking the ticket is now taken as the change date, rendering the ticket ineligible for the bonus status offer.
I guess I should have been aware of this, but lesson learned.

Yep. I recall reading this caveat in the terms and conditions whenever there has been a bonus SC or points offer. You essentially cannot make any changes to an otherwise eligible booking if you are to take advantage of the offer.

I also read that in my T&C for a recent offer, and am just seeking an additional point of clarification: Does any change to an itinerary render all other sectors ineligible?

(I have a return multi-stop trip to Europe coming up, departing May, returning 6 weeks later and including 4 eligible long haul sectors, so quite a few SCs riding on this).

Does this mean that if I change the last sector at all I would lose bonus for all previous sectors?

I guess so but just want to be sure.

Thanks,

tb

I believe so, though happy for anyone who has particular experience with this type of situation to advise.

I'm in a similar position. My interpretation is also that any charge renders the booking invalid for the promotion. I won't be flying in J but I'll save $550 that I would've otherwise spent.
