50% more status credits with Qantas Business Rewards to 19/6

Given the need for this travel be be under a 'Registered Business Organisation', if my travel is paid by an organisation that is not 'registered', what options do I have to take full advantage of this Double Status offer?

Well I would suspect that most business even if they've planned what's going to happen for the year wouldn't want to spend the cash several months ahead of flying for cash flow reasons and also in case things change a bit.
The majority of smaller business probably don't (aren't able) to plan too far ahead and if they do it's usually non-flex tickets, but 8-10 weeks is a suitable timeframe. Meduim to large businesses more likely to book flexible fares, so no odds for them as they can be cancelled/changed easily. Suppose it will really depend on each company's Travel Policy and who controls the purse strings (and whether they want to have expenses incurred in this FY, rather than next).

It's a glass and a half (normal SC plus 50% bonus) not a DSC.

I am interested in using this offer to get over the line for platinum, however I am in doubt. I am registered for QBR, but my ABN is not registered for GST, so I have never been able to earn QBR points from myself or employees listing our ABN on their bookings. Does anyone know if this will affect whether or not the QFF obtains the 50% bonus SC's?

I didn't think there was a requirement to be registered for GST in order to earn QBR points?

There was a rule change last year, that excludes some businesses not registered for GST. Pre-existing members kept their earnings potential:

6.2 Unless otherwise determined by Qantas, and without limiting any other provision of these Airline Reward Scheme Terms and Conditions, Members are not eligible for Airline Benefits if they:

  1. have their principal place of business outside of Australia;
  2. have a corporate or other private airfares agreement, discount or rebate provided by Qantas including through a third party arrangement, unless agreed by Qantas;
  3. are travel agents, travel wholesalers or travel consolidators;
  4. are other sellers or re-sellers of air travel; or
  5. are not registered for GST or are not incorporated entities (except for those Members who joined before 01 Feb 2017).

Does anyone know if a return flight with reward one way and paid flight for the other would be eligible?
Thanks for any info :)

The paid flight should be, I would have thought.

Thanks for that, yes I'm not certain either if the booking has to be done through business rewards login, or if you can just add the ABN to the booking where booking is done through normal Qantas FF account.

Does this rule change affect if this 50% bonus SC's offer is valid or not. Eg. My QBR account isn't registered for GST, so it is ineligible to earn points from people travelling under my ABN. Will I still be able to put my ABN on bookings to earn 50% more SC's.

There is nothing in the T&C for the offer that concerns whether or not the QBR member has to be eligible for earning points to be eligible to take advantage of the offer. o_O

I dont believe you need to book through QBR. As a business we use a corporate agent in the US and I add the QBR to the booking later once its ticketed and we have the QF PNR. I havent had any issues getting the bonus previously

It does state you can also book through a TA so yes 3rd party or self bookings are fine as long as the ABN is recorded on the booking. That’s the key. And link.

It looks like I got the regular SC offer. Although I should probably sign up for the business offer while the joining fee is waived.

50% more Status Credits on Qantas flights

Dear Sparkes,

There's never been a better time to book with Qantas. For a limited time, you'll be rewarded with 50% more Status Credits on eligible flights with a QF flight number on your ticket.*

You can enjoy this offer on an unlimited number of flights booked in the next 7 days so it's a great way to help get your Status Credits balance soaring.

Simply register and make a new booking between 14 June 2018 and 20 June 2018 for travel from 14 June 2018 to 12 October 2018. And don't forget to include your Frequent Flyer membership number in your booking.

Hey all, I just bought tickets to Europe and me and my partner are both part of the same qbr with gst registered. Only thing is, I literally just logged in to qbr and registered to be able to get this deal. Will I still qualify for it considering I bought the ticket before activating the deal?

Meet all the other criterias. On a side note, do u guys normally book tickets by logging in to qbr? Just so used to just buying it normally.

The T&C's are silent on whether there must be a precise order in which things are done:

^ To participate in this offer Qantas Business Rewards Members must (a) register their ABN between 12.01am (AEST) 12 June 2018 and 11.59pm (AEST) 19 June 2018, (b) book a new eligible flight between 12.01am (AEST) 12 June 2018 and 11.59pm (AEST) 19 June 2018, (c) quote registered Qantas Business Rewards ABN and Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number at the time of booking, and (d) travel between 12 June 2018 and 31 August 2018.

So I would be more confident than less confident. Whether there is wriggle room for QF to avoid is anybody's guess.

I have booked flights using both methods. Entering the ABN into the normal booking then sets up the booking under your QBR. Each to their own.

Thanks! I called and they denied it for awhile until I pushed really hard with logic and got it :)

When you book normally via Qantas and quote your ABN etc, does this booking then show up in QBR site? Mine doesn't eventhough I did and I was wondering if this is normal expected behaviour. Should I be always booking business related flights through QBR?

Has anyone had their bonus SCs credit for flights taken with this promotion? If so, how long did they take to appear?

Hi, I flew a 50% bonus SC flight on 22/6 booked during the promo period as above.

No sign of bonus SC as yet.

(Compared to the most recent DSC promo where bonus SC were posting within 2 business days)

The extra 120 SCs I got on the status run to Christchurch this week will push me into WP status. I thought it would probably take a few days for the additional SCs to appear, but WEEKS! I'll miss out on the rarified atmosphere of the Business Lounge. I can't find any terms and conditions that will provide any enlightenment on this.

I don't like it!

Is there someone I can complain to at Qantas to hurry things along?

I'm pretty sure I saw the usual up to 8 weeks disclaimer...
