Hi, I have rented cars a few times thru velocity and always been credited points but not till I had a closer look I am confused at how they work it out. It basically says you get 3 points per $1 spent on car hire. Recently I hired a car through velocity and europcar. My total spend was $330, yet I was credited 570 points. Can anyone explain this? Sent an email and scan of receipt to velocity, no explanation, just a voicemail saying your account has already been credited with the points (570), no explanation of why it wasn't 990 velocity points.

The points are only on the base rental. Taxes, charges, fees, insurance, etc are excluded.

Spot on, only time and KM charges, admin fees etc dont count.

Thanks Kyle and markis10, my first post and I got an answer in about 10 minutes, beats getting onto the crackly barely audible virgin phone support. Thanks again!

For shorter rentals you might be better off crediting to someone like Krisflyer, they give a flat 500 miles per rental

For Hertz and Avis crediting to VS will result in 1000-1100 minimum miles.
