28 degree adds lounges ["LoungeKey" if 2 Hour delay]

Well I've gone through and registered all my upcoming flights. Mostly I'll have lounge access anyway, but it could come in handy for a couple of flights where I don't (e.g. with Air Astana).

I figure that even if I have lounge access, a change of scenery after a >2 hour delay might be welcome anyway!
 
When you go to the T&C's on the Mastercard site, they say "Mastercard® has provided each cardholder with unlimited registrations per eligible card up to 15 November 2018. You can register at any time once a flight has been scheduled (typically up to 364 days in advance) and no later than six hours prior to the flight’s scheduled departure. All flights must be registered by 15 November 2018."

How do you read this? It reads like this would be valid only for flights registered in the next 10 days and then it's game over. That would be quite short-lived joy, then...

I think there are several different sets of terms and conditions floating around out there. The one offered by 28 Degrees - or more specifically by Lattitude Financial - doesn't refer to the 18 November (at least that I can see).

The link I was sent by email directs me to a special page on the 28 Degrees site, International Credit Card | Travel Card | 28 Degrees Platinum Mastercard

(The actual link is a lot longer and contains specific ID back to me, so I've truncated it.)

I wonder what's the purpose behind this? Presumably mastercard is collecting some sort of data around flight patterns and perhaps frequency and spend? Or perhaps this is a way for LoungeKey to get some more business by giving away free smaples? Either way I'm happy for the benefit, but there must be some benefit to mastercard and/or loungekey?

To access this service, register your flight/s on the Flight Delay Pass program website provided by your Issuing bank. You can register at any time once a flight has been scheduled (typically up to 364 days in advance) and no later than six hours prior to the flight’s scheduled departure.

Flight Delay Pass is provided at our discretion and only selected scheduled commercial flights are eligible for registration. Charter flights are not eligible for registration. Each leg of a multi-leg journey requires its own, separate, flight registration, unless all legs of the journey share the same flight number. ...

Well I can confirm that this actually works.

I was flying with LOT Polish Airlines the other night out of Warsaw, and our 10.40pm flight suffered rolling delays. Eventually it was 2 hours after the scheduled departure time and we still hadn't boarded, so I received an email and SMS from "MasterCard Flight Delay Pass" with vouchers for the two lounges at WAW.

The only problem was that the lounge in the non-Schengen area had already closed at 11pm. As it happens, I had access to the neighbouring LOT business lounge anyway, which also closed at 11pm. So in this case I wasn't able to use the vouchers but I can confirm that I received them exactly 2 hours into the delay.

So I registered Flight delay for 1/12/20 domestic flight..... MasterCard/28 degrees/latitude
Confirmed they are tracking flight.
You drop the 0 in mobile number for to adding +61?????

What's with the cookies on phone?
Any cancel or rebook option feature with card?

I had a flight yesterday out of YUL that was delayed more than 2 hours, and received an email and SMS from Mastercard Flight Delay Pass advising me of my lounge options.

In theory, so far so good. But in the end it wasn't very useful. As my flight was domestic, I could not access 2/4 locations which were in the international part of the airport.

I attempted to redeem my voucher at Bistrot Montreal-Trudeau but they claimed that their scanner wasn't working so they weren't able to accept any Priority Pass/Lounge Key vouchers.

I then walked over to Pork & Pickle and found it had already closed for the day.

I would contact 28 Degrees about the lounge that refused admission - so it does not happen to somebody else. Who knows you may receive some compensation such as a future visit pass...

Qn: Do you always log your flights to the site in case of delays?

I did contact LoungeKey. Was told I would get a response within 24 hours but that didn't happen.

Generally, yes (if there is a lounge available at the airport).
 
I was finally able to use this successfully today.

I'm currently at YYC and my Air Canada flight is delayed well over 2 hours, so got another email from LoungeKey.

My voucher was accepted at the WestJet Elevation lounge and I'm sitting in here now. As it happens, this is WestJet's flagship lounge and it's actually very nice! An upgrade over the Air Canada Maple Leaf Club here.
