Stay 9-10
Hilton on the Park
Booked: King guest room
Received: King exec room
Upgrades 10/10

Two bottles of water, welcome note, turndown, mints

Post #36 summed up my lounge visit on the first night. I had occasion to speak to the regular attendant the next day, and made it clear that service was not up to her usual standard. The rest of the stay was as expected, although I did not visit the lounge on the second night to compare. The breakfasts were both efficient. It wasn't busy either morning, so I guess this was to expected.

Ah the joy of the regular attendant in the lounge. Cheerful and attentive, even had time for a discussion on wine and public holidays. The lounge was quite busy, but she was still efficient. Breakfast the following morning was cheerful and businesslike with welcomes from a number of the staff.

Service wasn't up to her usual standard? What did she do? and what did you say?

I have a number of upcoming stays before my qual date of May 12. 19 in fact. I have 2 more to book and am looking for some ideas.

The time I have most free is 25-28 April. I have looked at SIN but am getting close to $1k with flights and hotel for two nights. A bit much. DRW doesn't fire up until May so a little too late.

Any suggestions?

when is your last date for qualification? Sounds like an opportunity for a party?

A trip to BKK and mattress running between the Conrad and Millennium?

I just realised I never answered your question.

The problem was that the attendent's (C and D) service was not up to the regular staff member's (W's) service.

i told her that it was a shame that she was not working the night before. As it turns out, C is the exec lounge manager. Hmmm.

And I have missed a couple of stays:

Stay 12 HOTP and 13 HSW were just like most of the others. Nothing stands out, except that when I was having breakfast at HSW, the woman recognised me and (correctly) offered me the right sort of coffee.. I said she had a good memory, and her reply was something along the lines of 'It was hard to forget that morning'. So I hope that it was the exception rather than the rule.

Mind you, she also asked if my friend would be joining me. So she has a good memory regardless.

Even better than BKK, from SIN go to KUL... DTree around $100, Hilton $150 normally.

Stay 14
11 April
Hilton South Wharf
Booked: Queen family room
Received: Queen family room i.e. no upgrade but I have a spare bed!
Upgrades 13/14 *sad face*

Two bottle of water (no welcome note).

I have just checked in at HSW to find no exec upgrade. So there goes my 100% strike rate! Whilst I expected not to get exec lounge when there is no room upgrade, I did not expect that I wouldn't be able to access the business centre. It is a good thing that I printed the QF81 spreadsheet before I left home.

At least I still get breakfast. Mind you, I am heading to MEL fairly early so I may save my appetite for the eggs florentine and Delamotte. :)

Check out update: A few things niggled me this stay, so I have filled out a feedback card. Again it is just the little things, but they add up. I skipped breakfast in order to save my appetite for the Flounge so I cannot comment on that this stay. Off to Sydney tonight for the first time.

They stay, above, was actually number 15. I think I lost count somewhere.

Stay 16
12 April
Hilton Sydney
Booked: Twin guest room
Received: Twin exec room
Upgrades: 15/16

Two bottles of water.

My first time at the Sydney Hilton and the check in was very professional and personalised. I visited the exec lounge for a soft drink and to use the printer about 4ish and there were already a number of people in there. I now understand all the references to the 'Uni Cafe' that have been made since the renovations. I did not stay for drinks as I was on the QF81 farewell tour of alcoholic establishments. I also had an early start on my way to the SYD Flounge, so only had tome for coffee in the morning. It seemed to take a long time to be made, and not that busy.

Two bottles of water

This stay was part of the QF81/82 farewell, so there were quite a few of us staying. We caused the exec lounge to be pretty full, however the two staff kept up extremely well with time for a chat now and then. I had to skip breakfast as a few of the hardier of us had an early start with QF82 departing at 0745.

It seems I will have about 23 or 24 stays by the time May 12 rolls around, so the challenge has been fairly straight forward. I hope Diamond status clicks over for my stay in PER and then BNE! It will be interesting to compare the service when I return to HSW/HOTP as well.

I just hope my HHonors account moves this stay on from Pending, where it has been all week!

Hilton Brisbane
Booked: King guest room
Received: King exec room
Upgrades: 17/18

1l bottle of water, turn down

When I checked in I was told that breakfast downstairs was a $10 surcharge for gold (comp for diamond). I did say that I have been a frequent HH guest in the last couple of months and had not had that before. They didn't budge. I had a coffee and croissant in the exec lounge the next morning before heading to BNE J lounge to top up.

I did not use the lounge in the evening as I was off to the LW/M10 debrief, but I have used it in the past and I do like it.

My shower ran hot and cold and when I reported this the next morning my CC surcharge was waived.

I certainly hope that the varying degrees of your water temperature did not exceed 1.5 degrees, relative to the CC surcharge. :D
