I bought this deal, and might buy some more under hubby's new membership too (after the waiting period). Will transfer to Velocity or AA in a few months (will wait to see, if any special transfer deals crop up first though). I have some more Starwood points coming soon (stop over in Singapore), so will wait to transfer in a bigger lot.

I did end up buying 20K points, it ended being around AUD$685. I used those points to redeem 5 nights at the Le Meridien Maritius, category 2 property, for 19,000 points :) The hotel currently is asking for 250+ EUR per night. I am still not sure if I will end up in Maritius but it's good to know that there are some good redemptions out there. In the worst case, I cancel and transfer the points to airline miles if need be.

I clicked on the link - the page says that this offer in on at present until 20 September....
You just saved me USD105 nicky. Rapt I happened upon this post just before I was about to buy the pts.

Love your work.

I bought some yesterday - I was just exploring the information here when I found the link was live again. Just luck really.

Theres another promo on currently until April and I'm just debating it as I don't have any planned stays with them although yet to finish booking Europe accommodation. Although I'm tempted to go for something authentic and local instead.

I caved and bought. Thought I'd learn by trial and error. Won't buy any more though until I actually use these and see what redeeming is like.
