Doesn’t look like this already has a thread so away we go.

We’ll be starting 2022 somewhere north as we did this year. Maybe Cairns or somewhere further north from there.

Yesterday we decided to make use of the DSC offer for NZ travel and booked J to CHC, me revenue, bigAl classic reward. We clearly enjoyed this year’s camper intro as we’ve booked a Kit camper for a couple of weeks. We’re doing without a shower this time but for self contained camping in NZ a loo is required, and it’s required by me too. We’ll fill all of the long weekends later, plus something for the second half of the year

So up in the air with borders, and only one trip I'll do in 2022, but some idea's:

Feb 2022 - Marlborough and north area of NZ South Island (if I am relatively certain no international travel for most of 2022).

Or if borders open and travelling mid 2022:

Poland - best case scenario with borders opening and no quarantine.
SE Asian Country, like Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, etc, more likely than above, but again, needs to be no quarantine.

Assuming Scomo will adapt Smartraveller to be like UK Traffic Light System.

I won't be making any international travel plans until it's reasonably certain I can get somewhere and back (alive and well) when I want to. No idea where the somewhere will be though, but there are lots of places I'd be happy to go for a short break. Maybe even to the UK to visit my brother and sisters and other relatives.

That means it will be a last minute booking. And, I'll need to get my Australian passport renewed at some stage too.

So not getting too excited about it at the moment.

I'm another one unlikely to make a speculative booking for 2022. However, I did just make one for February 2023 - a fully refundable ski package to Japan. Surely, surely, it must be over by then.

Nothing outside AU until I get more certainty regarding vaccine and borders. I'm itching for a USA trip again, but that will be at least 2023 oat this rate.

I'm thinking Adelaide, Perth... something like that. Not sure... More research needed.

I’ve been pushing my LSL, rebooked time in May 2022 but I doubt we can go anywhere overseas (that I want to go). Will be interesting to see what insurance Policies will cover.

At this point, planning for just two trips travelling out of Singapore, one in June and one in December. They will both be retreats at city hotels in Australia, all inclusive (full board) for 2 weeks.

I take it you are referring to HQ 🤣. Sounds dire, but worth it to see family.

Just about to book 11 day expedition cruise Darwin to Broome down the Kimberly coast. Booking a cruise in the middle of a Pandemic is not something I'd imagined I'd ever do - but desperate times ...

Its on the French flagged Le Laperouse ... built 2018. Cruise On LE LAPEROUSE - Cruise Ship | Ponant max 184 pax. Going with some friends so it'll be a hoot. I lived in Darwin for a while, but first time in Broome.

We have booked a NZ south island cycling week with friends departing 28 December 2021.

Then thinking about flying to north island for a bit of a road trip for another week. Still looking at options. But I am fearful that car hire may be expensive.

Really hoping I can go to South Africa (and potentially some nearby countries too) which I was meant to visit for a safari in June 2020.

Tentatively booked a two week treatment at Wieliczka Health Resort in Poland 4-15 July 2022. Very tentatively, no deposit, stating to them I'll hopefully be able to confirm first few months of 2022.

Maybe flying out 1st July 2022? Last time I left Oz August 2019 (Ubud & Yogyakarta - both awesome).

No if HQ, but if maybe 5 days home quarantine I would do. Second Pfizer jab booked in for 7th June in a couple of weeks.

Well there has to be at least one madly optimistic person here! The day before the budget’s exceptionally pessimistic comments we booked two rtw tickets leaving January! We did check the cancellation conditions very well first.

We will be fully vaccinated and are accepting that we may have to quarantine on the way home.

Fingers crossed

I have a 42-day trip to the 5 Stans booked for June 22. It was postponed from 2020 to 2021 to 2022, but now it looks as though I could miss out again, by a few weeks of being 'let out'. 😣
Keep pursuing it. You won’t regret it. One of my best tours ever.

Thanks.
It's always been on my list, but it was actually your trip report that pushed me to booking. :)
