Opinions on the new 2022 car? Personally I love it. Sleek, modern and flowing - brilliant. With the added bonus of (hopefully) closer racing 2022 is looking like a cracker season.

Car looks good (other than the paint job).
Though the front wing looks a bit large

The analysis that it will throw 86% of disturbed air up and above the following car (versus about 50% now) is great.

And reintroduction of some ground effect

Quite a departure from the existing cars, larger wheels and the bigger but simpler front wing, I can definately see quite a few people losing their front wings next season in traffic and especially at the start of races, ground effects will definately discourage kerb "hopping" that we see currently because any undefloor damage will compromise ground effects so anyone with damage will be eaten alive on-track and we will see more retirements next season due to this, biggest problem is still the size, width and length of cars has not decreased, and the continued lack of "noise" from conventional V8, V10 or V12 won't make them crowd pullers.

I watched the Qualifying and the new 100km Sprint yesterday, and thought it was really good, and would like to see if again at some different tracks. There was tight racing in the middle of the pack, and except for Perez everyone got through ok.

OK verdict on the lap 1 incident

- Ham’s fault?
- Vet’s fault?
- “Racing incident”?

FWIW Ham did similar behind Lec (who ran off the road to avoid him) - shades of Senna - put the car where your opponent has the option of back off or crash.

I think Hamilton did an overtaking move at Copse 3 times during the race.

First time on Verstappen
Second time on Norris
Third time on Leclerc

It could be pretty much to respond to the claim by Christian Horner that say something like

"Every driver who has driven this circuit knows that you don't stick a wheel up in the inside at Copse. That is an enormous accident."

Earlier in the season Hamilton was in front in the championship (by more than the difference in points for a position change) and he can afford to be conservative. When Hamilton is behind, he will be more aggressive.

Regardless, the stewards handed out the penalty.

I was hoping HAM would get a penalty, but I don't think he deserved one. A racing incident.

I enjoyed the race, and good to see McLaren in 4 and 5. RIC did well to hold SAI off.

LEC lost the race 10 laps before HAM was let through by BOT.

He had "speed in the bag" according to the radio - half a second a lap from then would have made a 5 second difference.

Racing incident for sure. Christians comments were harsh saying that Hamilton's win was hollow, really? Both guys are fighting hard every race, both won't give an inch and the incident showed that. Was Max going to back off? No. Was Lewis? No.
Looking at the replay you could see Max turn in, then see Lewis along side him and back off for a split second then turn back in, assuming Lewis was going to back off when he was along side? Nope.

If it was the other way around, Toto would says exactly what Christian did and visa versa.

But Max was ahead so Hamilton should have yielded .....

Turning into someone when you know they are there is not a smart move and we saw that last week. When it's that close you don't assume things, Max did and paid the price.
I'm not saying Lewis was in the right, he should have backed out however his comments about Max being over aggressive I tend to agree with and this was a perfect example of exactly that.

Mercedes does it again............. their plan to hold back Red Bull is working very well.

Surprised Stroll didn't get a penalty as well
Cost LeClerc and Dan a chance at good points with all the carnage at the front.

Crazy to think you can cut the corner over wet grass and regain control on the other side.

I think Bottas and Stroll both got five-place grid penalties for the next race
