I can't seem to register for any of the stay x get x promos. Anyone manage to register successfully for one of the codes?

I just registered Stay 3 Nights, get 5000 Points - Code 7057 & was advised it was successful , but it hasn't come up in My offers

I can't seem to register for any of the stay x get x promos. Anyone manage to register successfully for one of the codes?

I registered 7057 a couple of months ago and the 5000 points posted promptly after the 3rd night

How long do people find usual stays take to post to the account? I checked out of HIX Clarke Quay on Saturday but it still hasn't posted. I assume once it does post any bonuses I am registered for will then post....

They post pretty consistently at T+4 Days after checkout.

Is have added a warning to the summary page re the risk of possible account closure.

There's two new ones on FT.

( yeah, I know ... 'beware', but you know ... )

Thanks markis10 for keeping the thread up to date and flashback and other contributors for their codes.

Got a 2 night stay coming up in July at the IC Sanctuary Cove and got a couple of codes to stick:

AMBASSADOR ACCELERATOR BONUSAward Meter0%
1,000 BONUS POINTS FOR 60 DAYSAward Meter0%
ELITE MEMBER NEXT STAY BONUSAward Meter0%
New Stay BonusAward Meter0%
ANNIVERSARY BONUS OFFERAward Meter0%
NEW MEMBER BONUS PROMOTIONAward Meter0%
Earn 4,000 Bonus Points at The Venetian® and The Palazzo®
1000 POINT GOLD BONUS OFFER

So some of them indeed stuck and I'm happy with my $500+ 2 night stay points haul, given my base membership level:

ActivityTotal EarnedElite Qualifying Points
Base Earning8,254 pts.8,254 pts.
NEW MEMBER BONUS PROMOTION3,000 pts.0 pts.
1,000 BONUS POINTS FOR 60 DAYS1,000 pts.0 pts.
New Stay Bonus1,500 pts.0 pts.

Found a few recent Codes on FT ( and elsewhere ), and waited until a week prior to next booking.

All recent Codes came up as 'you are already registered for this offer' ...

Just got my point tally for a one night stay, and nothing more that the base points + Plat. bonus.

I've got a few 'Offers' on my official list, but nothing posted this time.

So there are people still prepared to try their luck with the account closure roulette then? For me, I wouldn't dare still be playing with codes until we see the bi picture open a bit more. Weren't you a bit worried last stay that they might close your account, or was that someone else?

I still struggle with the concept that they are kicking people in the shins who are their customers coming back time after time. Close their account and they will still come back....? Oh sure !!.

Strange, they should just upgrade their systems if they are so worried rather than lose their customers.. might have an Irish CEO ????

Yeah, I was thinking it could be too risky ...

But from what I've researched, I felt safe enough.

I now think, that all these account closures are related to something 'other' than simply attempting to register 'codes'.

Since I haven't tried anything 'risky' ( by way of multiple BRG bookings, or PB bookings in various combinations etc. ), I was willing to try to enter a few more codes.

As many of us have noticed over the past few years, this 'you are already registered' message keeps coming up, but after check out, the points never seem to post.

I would agree with the advice: Don't try to complain, if you don't get bonus points etc.

THAT, might be pushing one's luck a tad too far ...

I was a bit worried about my signing up (for the 6 I did), but only 3 garnered points. Then again, with only 18K points in my account, I doubt I'm high on their radar. They are looking more for the people who sign up for new accounts all the time (so they can gather more bonus point opportunities), then close the new account and transfer the points to their main account and spend them straight away on Points Break rooms etc.

Thanks FLASHBACK ...

That info makes the difference for me - NO MORE codes ...

Which will mean for the occasional hotel guest, that it will push me away from staying at IHG hotels unless there is no other option.

Why can't they simply lock down the codes? They'd spend less time and $ on that, than having dedicated staff looking at members accounts...my 2c worth.

Hilton seems to have no trouble doing it, or SPG.

Says it all really. Sign up to bonus point offers you were not targeted for at your own peril. Personally, I think it's a ludicrous situation but for IHG to take such drastic action, suggests it must be a big problem for them.

I still don't understand the issue.

Change the promotion page to reject promotions not targetted to that member. Simple fix.

Hence I've stayed at a total of 2 IHG properties in the past few years!
