I bought tickets for the Melbourne wine fair. Each ticket gets a complementary riedel wine glass, a nice bonus.

I'll also be attending the Melbourne event with three friends. The purchase on epiQure actually secured me a complimentary 12 month extension of my membership! :p

Re: 2013 Qantas epiQure Ultimate Wine Fair - Sydney

Pehaps Mods can change the thread title to "2013 Qantas epiQure Ultimate Wine Fair - Melbourne and Sydney"?

The Melbourne one is on offer for half price ($30) if you book using the Entertainment Book's code MELWFENTERTAIN

I just did! So perhaps a few more AFF'ers will attend? Might be good value for $30? :)

Just returned from the wine fair. Very nice event, well organized and not too overcrowded.

The best reds I tried were the St Hallett Old Block Shiraz, Mount Langi 2005 Shiraz, Katnook Odyssey Cab Sauv, Voyager Estate Cab Merlot 2005 and the Yering Station Shiraz Viognier 2006.

Can only agree! Was a great event with excellent produce and exquisite wines.

My favourites were the Brokenwood ILR Semillon 2006, Brokenwood Verona Vineyard Shiraz 2011, Peter Lehmann Eight Songs Shiraz 2006, Voyager Estate Cab Merlot 2008, Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Lusatia Park Pinot Noir 2012.

SWMBO and I spent the afternoon there and the highlight was the red master class, but enjoyed the whole afternoon being especially careful not to trip on the bluestone floor.
The food was great as well and the ample water to keep hydrated was appreciated.
Will definitely return next year.

Agree with all, was a great day out. Was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't overcrowded with a decent amount of seating around and some generous complementary food options. Lots of great wines on offer. Was good to have a 15% off code available, but just a shame that it expired at 6 PM (just before I got home!). Will be attending next year, for sure.
