I am considering travelling to Eastern Europe around the time the Olympics will be on next year. Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether prices for travelling there would be much higher than they usually are for the European summer?

I'm in the same boat. Eastern Europe should be fine.

If you stay away from LHR you should be ok, or plan to leave for you holiday just as the games end, as flights over should be cheaper (leaving will be pricey).

We are thinking of flying to a city like Munich and then flying on to London City to avoid Heathrow. The light rail at London City airport (DLR) is brilliant to get to our accommodation for the Olympics.Any way that is what we are thinking.
