I bet if she had have been middle eastern the penalty would have been much more
Why doesn't she take responsibility for her actions? She tried to blame it on the alcohol plus medication... I'm glad she didn't get away with it!
The main thing is that a conviction was recorded. The woman in question may now find travel quite difficult, because even a 12-month suspended sentence would be considered very, very serious by number of nations, eg the USA. The fact that the offense took place on an aircraft may well decrease the likelihood of getting a visa even more.
Unfortunately she got a "12 month bond without conviction" so she is free to fly anywhere and doesn't have to acknowledge it on any visa application.

It is amazing what some people will do during a flight.
I know someone who had a couple champagnes and beer in the SYD First Class lounge before a flight, then on the BA SYD-SIN flight he had 7 x 50mL bottles vodka (over half a normal bottle of vodka). Then in SIN went out to Geylang for a meal and to a karaoke bar and had about a dozen beers finally going to sleep after 4:00am. I still don't know how I survived that day/night as most of my blood must have been had a very high concentration of alcohol....
Such is life and I hope not to repeat the episode again any time soon...You need to change those last few entries... We had no idea who it was until you did that!:mrgreen:
