Hi Folks - thought you might be interested in this one, which I've just had shared with me through our corporate arrangement with VA. I'm fairly sure it is open to all, and my apologies if that is not the case! Link for promo activation here: Offer

Details:
Bonus Status Credits
Earn 20 bonus Status Credits on all eligible Virgin Australia domestic and Trans-Tasman flights, when you activate and book before 2 June 2021 for travel by 19 April 2022.
Terms & Conditions:
Virgin Australia Bonus Status Credits To be eligible for the Bonus Status Credit promotion you must (1) Activate this offer contained in this flyer or through the activation link via Velocity Frequent Flyer within the member dashboard under ‘My Offers’ or in the Velocity App between 12.01am AEST 24 May 2021 and 11.59pm 2 June 2021 inclusive (Promotion Period); (2) after offer activation, book and ticket an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period and enter a valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking; and (3) complete travel on an Eligible Flight. An Eligible Flight is a Domestic or Trans-Tasman flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, between 12.01am AEST 24 May 2021 and 11.59pm 19 April 2022 inclusive and booked and ticketed in a fare class that normally accrues Status Credits. This offer is not valid on Getaway fare class bookings. Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this offer. Bonus Velocity Status Credits will be earned in addition to base Velocity Status Credits earned. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. This offer is only available to the intended recipient of this email. Velocity Status Credits offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. You should allow up to 4 weeks after completion of travel for the bonus Velocity Status Credits to be allocated.

Cheers,
Matt.

Despite T&C saying "this offer is only available to the intended recipient of this email", it's on the front page of the Velocity website.

In the email I received, and in the Ts & Cs above, it states that "there is no limit to the number of times this offer can be redeemed", so I take it the 20SCs is per flight? For example, if I booked HBA-MEL-CBR return, that would be classed as four eligible flights and therefore 4 lots of additional status credits?

Got to love airlines ITS, the registration email link arrived through my Accelerate email account and when I hit the link received this

However as soon as I logged into my VA account this popped up

I am thinking that the VA systems are not capable or just gets confused when a person with the same VA FF number has both a personal and business account.

I doubt I will book anything.

I had an existing booking for December so I called up and cancelled it for full flight credit.
Booked it again online, to take advantage of the extra SC's and got the error of being a duplicate booking. To save calling them back, I just booked it through AMEX Travel (as their Freedom fares are cheaper then Virgin, even with the 10% code).
Then booked other flights using the credit.

(NOTE: Yes, I am aware if I make changes to the AMEX flight , AMEX have additional charges.)

Correct. I've purposely done a PER - BNE flight via MEL which not much price difference (on a freedom fare at least) to maximimise status credits and flight segments.

I flew today, booked yesterday. Only saw this at the airport when I was getting my card up. Probably missed out on it for this flight but will be useful tomorrow when I book to get home.

I nearly pulled the trigger on a flight last night so this will be nice

As my new (SC) year doesn't commence until Oct 21 I'd only be using this for well forward bookings. Plus, after the 'book one flight to extend your status' offer from earlier this year I already have WP until Oct 22, so plenty of time to see how the travel landscape evolves.
Unlikely to use.

Received this aswell

Yeah - I had the same thing... if you look within the URL that is in your Accelerate e-mail, it is incorporating your corporate account number rather than a Velocity member number; I think that's why it says not eligible on opening the page.

Cheers,
Matt.

From T&Cs “offer is not valid on Getaway fare class bookings” 🙄

Not unprecedented but still...

VA seems to have realised something was a miss an updated email today. See not likely to book anything.

I received this VA Offer on Monday, activated it, thought about it & booked a few flights on Tuesday.

Bit chuffed with myself as I actually booked the MEL-OOL via CBR as the AFF article by Matt Graham suggested. I worked out best options & came to same conclusion. Also did a MEL-MCY return with stop over.

With Elevate fair it's better than DSC as mentioned, equal to a DSC offer when taking J flights, depending on price of course.

Anyway, will get myself to VA Platinum, with a baby in da house, use parental pause & get close to 2.5years worth.
Love the Economy X.

Nice offer VA.

I had an existing booking for December so I called up and cancelled it for full flight credit.
Booked it again online, to take advantage of the extra SC's and got the error of being a duplicate booking.
I had "cancelled" my return trip to Darwin so I could rebook and although my credit went into Travel Bank pretty much straight away and my trip was removed from my list of trips I got the "duplicate booking" error and wasn't able to rebook (on the Virgin website) either. I did call up and got a very helpful guy who rebooked for me - even got a cheaper price that way (saved $177.96 and yes I double checked that he didn't book me any Getaway fares!!)

But I want to cancel and rebook another couple of trips. Has anyone had the duplicate error - when does it go away? Do I have to wait a few days before it stops? I did ask the CSR but he didn't know why it was doing it and couldn't explain it. I know I could just ring up again but their lines are busy with a lot more important things than some silly chick just trying to rack up SC's  :p

***EDIT*** I double checked my flight booking and now know why I was charged less by phone - in spite of me stating multiple times that I did not want any Getaway flights he booked my BNE - DRW flight in Getaway  I did get my return trip (with stopover in Melb) as a Freedom (I knew Getaways and Elevates were sold out). I thought something like this might happen by calling. It's the reason why I don't want to have to do the cancel and call again.

This just happened to me as well, although it was I who found the fare had dropped slightly. I thought I had cancelled the original booking but for some reason encountered the "duplicate booking" error when I tried to rebook the same flight. As it was after hours I couldn't call to fix it but then discovered by chance that I could change to the same flight after making a new booking on a different date with no fare difference...
