15% Bonus Points Offer

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere or prior but am I being cynical in wondering why Qantas are offering 15% bonus points on charge card points transfers? Am currently sitting on a couple of hundred thousand Amex points so this means a tidy 30K extra points if I transfer now.

Of course the question that needs to be asked is "whats in this for QF and why now?" Anyone got any thoughts if have I been reading too many conspiracy novels....... :-)
