Little things I like

LTIL: Staff that go out of their way to do little things that make a big impression.

Had a brief chat with one of the staff working the front desk here at the Novotel AKL Airport and mentioned I'd been going since 4am and was trying to power through to my next flight at 6am. Cue momentary shock from the hotel staffer. I went back to where I've set up shop here in the lobby, and the next thing I know he's walking over with a fistful of pre-packaged cookies (think like you'd get in the minibar) for me because he thought it might help me to "power through". 😋

Not staff but terrific!

Back in "the Day" (OK, a decade and a half ago) @Kiwi_Flyer showed me where it was possible to get some quiet sleep landside on the (now publicly inaccessible) floor above immigration at AKL international.

That's an LTIL!

(Loved those NZD35 fares on QF that earned 20 SC)

2 things for me this week.
Emirates First CHC-SYD on Sunday evening was awesome, one of my best flights ever.
Have flown QF first and BA first were ok but not in the same league.
I am now likely QF 4 flights away from Life time gold and Qantas platinum for this membership year.

LTIL: In the past week I have parked in Hobart and forgotten to start the parking app - one in a highly patrolled zone. In both cases, I came back after about 90 mins, having remembered that I hadn't started parking so feeling pretty wretched, and ... no tickets! 🎉
🤞it remains like that @RooFlyer with no surprises in the mail!

Thanks, but pretty confident I got away with it. They are very consistent on putting it both well stuck on the windscreen & under wiper blades; in one case I was in underground car park so little chance of being 'blown away'.

That there is a new and working way to load all the libraries I am a member of onto the kobo , kinda convuluted but it works !!! Which means just having one "connected " Libby will talk to my kobo and download whichever books I borrow whoohoo (yes my husband didn't get excited either especially when managed to spill a half litre of water all over the bed, no definitely water and not wine lol )
Now off to reset a couple of passwords and I will have about six libraries that are on my Libby able to "talk" to my kobo

LTIL: When you flick something on TV and are mesmerised for the next 2 hours.

Watched 'Notre Dame the Renaissance Concert' (SBS), from last December, which marked the completion of the cathedral's rebuild and restoration.

Wow. Try to see it on iView. And the light show at the end. Only bad note was a gospel choir, with all the usual flamboyance. I mean, why?

Two highlights amongst many.

Hallelujah by Vianney. Not a translation but an original re-composition in French

Daniel Lozakovich Performs the Aria from the 3rd Suite by Bach. I'd never heard of him. Remarkable story.

Hallelujah 😊 thank you, great tip, I'll look for it.

I dropped into Woolies on my way to work this evening. No queue at the register.

I have a flight next month, with a SYD -BNE flight connecting to an international flight.
On checking my QFF account I noticed that the international flight had been moved to depart an hour earlier. I don't know when this changed but I didn't receive any notification.

This worried my as there is only one international flight each day to the destination, but still within the minimum transit time !hour 45mins, if nothing went wrong.
With some encouragement from @Flyfrequently I phoned Qantas today, ready with lots of reasons to change this flight and not charge me. Firstly I mentioned about the flight change without notification to an earlier time slot. Without hesitation she said "would you like me to change you to an earlier flight from Sydney?" I said that would be great. She said "hold on the line while I make the changes" she also said you can still talk to me while I do this.
Change done within a couple of minutes, email with updated flight details whilst still on the line.

Thank you, but just lots of little tips I have gleaned from here on AFF @ellen10
Glad it worked out so easily.
