New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

In Queensland - where things happen slowly, there's an experiment running since 1927 where pitch - notionally solid - flows and sends drops into a beaker through a funnel, very, very slowly (9 so far). And just like here, they keep watch, every day, with little changing :) :

If the construction site had its own 24 hr webcam show, they could call it even 🙂

That's the new Qantas Club. The new Business Lounge, which will share a common entrance, has just a few more weeks to go, according to the lounge staff.

The new Qantas Club is quite beautiful with lots of seating, most with modern charging.

As you can see, it was pretty much packed at 6.00pm-ish. It's quite a bit smaller than the old Qantas Club. But there's still a section not yet opened and of course the Business Lounge, when opened will ease the load. I don't know the current status of the Chairman's Lounge.

Food offerings seemed to be about the same as before.

From those pictures, I don't love it. While new and shiny, it doesn't look like a relaxing lounge. It looks like a cafeteria in an office building to me.

Ideally from a lounge visitor point of view the lounge should always have spare seats. QF selling lounge access, handing out lounge passes liberally undermines the experience a bit.

The sections near the windows were more "relaxing", I suppose. You can see just a part of them in the last photo. It was sunset, so most of the window blinds were down. But it's all seating only, with small side tables, in those areas.
