10,000 Bonus QFF Points for opening an IG Share trading account

There are pretty strict Anti Money Laundering practices in place for Australian financial institutions. Without trading activity I suspect you'd run into issues.

That's not money laundering, in any way, shape, or form.

I'm not saying you would be laundering, I'm saying that depositing and withdrawing without any trading activity will likely raise red flags due to the anti money laundering provisions that companies such as IG have to uphold. As is evident by others stating they've been unable to withdraw to their bank account and have been forced to withdraw to PayPal, due to AML provisions.

No problems that you don't trade. Effectively buying points. 100,000 points so far and no problems.

Joined on 14th Dec and I now have the 25 trading points (x2) but not the 10k yet. Have never had a share account so hopefully they will come through in time-they clearly have my QFF account linked

Me too, sold on 11 December and still nothing! Annoying really especially when others got points sooner.

I'm inclined to think that something has gone wrong with your registration for the 10,000 bonus points offer. When I signed up for the offer, and bought and sold on the same day, my 10,050 points posted the following Monday, which seems to be the normal pattern. Then my wife did the same thing and bought and sold last Thursday, and the 10,050 points posted yesterday (presumably delayed slightly due to the public holidays). Are you aware of anyone who had the standard 25 points for trading post separately from the bonus points? If not, I'd give them a call.

I also only received the pts for the trade so far. Received 25pts on Wednesday after doing 2 trades (buy & sell - should have been 50pts which is another issue) last week. No 10k bonus as yet.

Opened a PayPal account to transfer my money out. But now it wont let me use PayPal to transfer any money back into IG. Whole thing has been very frustrating and still no points!

oh yeah, gotcha :) I dont think anyone would run into problems though, because they have policies in place to prevent money laundering. its fairly standard for any financial services (investing/gambling et al) to require withdrawals to only be paid to the source of the original deposit.

o_O

No points at all for my trade on the 13th December despite their call centre confirming the offer to me when chasing for more business after my signup.
Will have to call them next week and no doubt cop another sales pitch

No dice I think. Looks like they pull only from bank accounts linked to PP. I couldn't get it to select anything other than my bank account...

I traded something like 14th. Only have 25 trading points posted (27th Dec) - despite buying and selling which I thought should = 50. Called up pre Christmas to enquire as to lack of bonus points and was told terms are up to 8 weeks to post bonus and keep an eye on my account... no sign yet...

8 weeks is quoted in the T&C's, so they really have a fair bit of time up their sleeve.

If they don't post by 8th Feb then I'd be ringing them straight away and telling them they're outside their T&C's, however I reckon they'll post before then judging on a number of people's responses to this offer.

Using my Explorer to fund my IG account , effectively buying SPG points for 1 cent each is pretty good value in my opinion . Compare to their recent 35% off price is still 3 cents / SPG point

Shhhhh, otherwise the loophole will be closed ;););)

Agree. That 35% off deal was never worth it. I called it in November:

35% Discount on Starpoint Purchases until end of December

and received a number of abusive responses at the time.

I'll miss this opportunity when I cancel my remaining AMEX cards this week.
