10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Nothing here. Have those who have received points:

  • been previously suspended
  • enrolled in 5T/5K, 10T/10K or 20T/20K
  • enrolled in multiple promos
  • been POCed
  • complained to Amex
  • complained to BFSO
or anything else pertinent?

Shame that it has no connection to the actual points earned...
Again showing the inconsistency from Amex with this promotion.

Not targetted, enrolled in all three promotions, POCed and placed on 10T/5K promotion.

Received bonus points in September, POCed some bonus points in October, received POCed bonus points back again, receive October bonus points end of December and received November bonus points today. Bonus points are up to date through to November under the 10T/5K promotion....

  • I've been POC'd.
  • Removed from all three promos and pushed onto the 10/5K.
  • Have not complained (except here!).
  • Have been a fairly good bunny and not overspent on my Amex or given them reason to doubt most of my transactions.

I received 5k points overnight for NOV. Strange as I was on the 20 trans for 10k points.... so not sure how the 5k works.

I received about half the points expected, so I guess it's time for a call for me today too - though at least it's a start!

I think "you know who" is having trouble with his fonts. The "commas" on my Qantas FF Account Statement are different from the "commas" on his.

I got 20,000 which is less then half i was expecting. What is wrong with them.

Also, I believe these are just for Nov, then we have to wait another month for Decembers, is this right?

I just called them up, they spoke about technical glitch and i should get the rest by next week....and it is for the Nov period.

So we have to wait longer for Decembers....


I bet AMEX will never do this type of promotion again. :mrgreen: unfortunately.... :(
 
I too got a lump sum yesterday, but it in no way reflects my entitlement. I've been advised on 3 occassions that I'm on 5/5 yet I received only 50000 points for 120 transactions. And only 25000 on 31 Dec so if that relates to October then I'm short about 80000 then as well. Was going to check up with them today, but seeing as none of the points awarded seem to match any particular program, I'm not too worried yet
 
I received the correct amount for November and I was on the 5/5 promo. Just December left now and Europe here I come for the third time in 3 years.....:D
 
I received my full outstanding points for Novermber yesterday, though I'm still owed points for October?! Very strange. I called MR and they said more points will be doled out in the next couple of days, and if points are still missing after that then to call back. At least there's some movement (for seemingly most people).

For the record I did not receive the postcard, enrolled in only the 5T/5K promo, and have not contacted the FOS, though I did write a complaint letter to Amex when they wrote to bump me onto the 10T/5K scheme. The following week I received the apology letter saying I was on 5T/5K, and the points I've received to date are in line with that scheme

None of the above and received 25,000 more than expected for November, but received the correct amount to fill the void on 31st December

Now just awaiting Decembers points in which I need about 85,000 points to fill the void of what I received during the month and what I am still owed for the month
 
MR's rep just said 'at least 5 days' is needed for some 'backroom' people to find these 'missing' bonuses from October.:evil:
 
grrrrr - just rang AMEX again as I still have no points credited from any month during the promo. Apparently this "technical issue" is still going on and they cannot give an estimated time as to when it will be fixed?! Rather suspicious of these excuses.

I was on 5T/5K promo, suspended from it (apparent abuse?!) then reinstated back into it (was suspended via which they called an "administrative error"). I wonder if my suspension lifting has filtered through to the relevant groups....
 
Still no points (apart from normal MR points) for me since the last batch on Sep 23.

Also still no response still from Amex despite being well beyond the 30 day period specified by Amex that they would respond in.

Reading the recent posts above it once again appears that Amex's points awarding to individuals is random and variable with no seeming logic too it.

Meanwhile my postcard remains safely stored, and my thoughts is simlar to others that Amex's constant bungling can only weaken their case in any form or arbitration etc.
 
ASIC 'Misconduct and Breach Reporting' Ms Cheryl Wilson says they would, depending on the number of complaints and any findings of 'systemic problems' look into asking Amex to make monetary compensation for awarding bonuses well outside the 10 weeks, eg for unavailable award seats in the school holidays.
 
I am waiting to see how the week pans out now. My urgency for points has waned due to not being able to get the seats I wanted on VX or SQ so I shall sit back until 13 Feb to see what the outcome is. If they have paid up by then a decent amount the issue is done for me.

I have experienced no actual loss in reality as the 31 jan deadline was just a random deadline set by Amex. if they had followed the rules, I would have been in a position to generate enough points in time to book the flights I wanted. I shall see what they pony up in the next week whilst using some of the points for an upgrade to NZ - potentially...
