10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Great to see points coming through...........but not near the amount of transactions i have made. Maybe only half...........

I suspect that some of us have been put on promotions like 10T/5K without us being told about it.

All points owed to me from September through to December transferred to me in full.

I was uninvited on 5/5t promo and enrolled before September 20 and didn't try to enrol in multiple promos. I didn't really do much different in terms of trying to make more transactions out of it. Just did my usual thing but probably visited Coles and Woolies a bit more often but other than that pretty much around my average monthly transactions.

Maybe this is why I didn't get any letters/suspensions questioning my transactions and received all of my points.

This was a great promo, good luck to everyone trying to get their points out of Amex.

See ya :)

I am still around 85K short of what I believe I am owed. However, the MR rep I spoke with yesterday could not find any evidence of my 2 letters (registered post for which I have the delivery confirmation receipt) explaining why I believe I should be on 5/5 and not 10/5 per Amex belief. I was asked to fax her a copy of those letters .

So at least up until yesterday, Amex still had me on 10/5 and I have now been paid more points than would be due under 10/5, but still 85K short of what should be due under 5/5 promo. I do not believe my fax to the MR rep could have affected the points that were added late yesterday - just not enough time for the letters to be processed and actioned.

The MR rep did promise to call me back within 5 days when she gets a response to her email to the "back office people". So will see what she says then.

Like many here, received a "Spend Promotion - DEC" which didn't relate to December at all - regardless of which level.

Oringally enrolled sequentially in all 3, then POCed, got the "10T/5K" letter, sent a complaint (only to AMEX so far, and only at the end of last month) demanding 5T/5K, and have heard nothing.

Total points now is way over 10T/5K, but still short on 5T/5K (but less than 10% short).

I am wondering given the likely deeming of these issues as "systemic" by regulators, whether the mystery letters may be a relenting of the 10T/5K decision and a belated return of all those who had 5T/5K to that rate before the FOS compliance costs (both $ and time) of all the extra complaints completely swamps AMEX.

I rang up Amex again today as I still have zero points!!

I too was told about some 'back office' people and I would be contacted within 10 working days......mm it goes on..... Gave the BFSO a quick call - is there a particular individual at the BFSO I should talk to about this fiasco? From what I have read in this forum, I am guessing the BFSO have had some exposure to this whole thing?

All contact with the BFSO must be in writing, they wont do anything over the phone unless you already have an active case number

No points here so another fruitless call to Amex who will "get back to me". At least the CSR was very pleasant and apologetic and after I had led her through the details of past converstions was happy to agree that I was owed the points. There's only 15000 in question (much of the period was spent overseas and subsequently being immobile for a lengthy period, so escalating to FOS isn't really worth it.

Still, it fills the time.

Deja vu! Almost same story except I complained to Amex over the phone, not in writing, about being placed on the 10T/5K promotion. I have received way more bonus points than the 10T/5K promotion but ~15% short of the 5T/5K promotion.

I have a weird feeling that something is not quite right and I hope I am totally wrong. My MR balance increased by 5,000 points sometime last night or this morning after the 'Spend Promotion - DEC' had posted. I cannot find any transactions to confirm the 5,000 point increase when looking through my MR transactions for the last 3 months.

MR told me they know how much everyone was to receive .... and I bet Amex in Oz told the the US Office:" "We'll need x,000,000 bonuses by 31 January". So these over and underpayments and non payments are a mystery.

And promises of 5 days is now 10 days.

Apart from getting a small amount of points (relatively) on Tues tagged as Nov, and a large deposit last night labelled Dec, I've also received another small amount today, labelled Nov. So it would seem that for those who are still a little short (this leaves me about 100k short which doesn't relate to any of the 3 variants of promo) that all is not over yet.

I just received some more bonus points, even though I had received mine in full (or so I thought)

Ditto, another smaller amount labelled Nov. Closing the gap slowly (half of what was missing towards 5T/5K), leaving the shortfall now only 5% of the total.

Adding up the two "Nov" labelled amounts now exceeds the amount calculated at 10T/5K, but is less than that for 5T/5K for November transactions. The single "Dec" amount does not correlate to anything for December - way over 5T/5K, (less than the total of 20T/10K, 10T/5K and 5T/5K) and does not add up to any 2 either.

Well it may be for some.

However in my case I was postacrded as 5k/5 and also received an Oct letter confirming me as being in 5k/5.

So my mystery letter "should" have different content...

With no points posting unlike Gogo65 who is suspended but has gained 800,000 points I am supecting my letter will be a negative one.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

There is now a MR tansaction for the extra 5,000 bonus points appearing overnight and the desctiption is "Spend Promotion - NOV'. Still confused with what is happening but I am not complaining as long as the points stay in the MR account....

Hmmm...paid for the December portion, but again somewhat about half the points I think I'm entitled to. It's as if I was on the 10T/5k promotion, rather than my original 5T/5k. I haven't received any letter to the effect that I was supposed to be on a different plan.

A sizeable number of points but still, I had designs on what I could do with the rest. :) We'll see what happens in due course, but perhaps a call to Amex will be warranted...

I'm in the same boat - basically received half the points I should have. I've put through a call to AMEX and they seemed pretty friendly anyway - so we'll see in 10 business days or so what happens (or not, given others experiences :D).

I wonder how many people will be redeeming their points quick smart just in case a second round of POCing commences?

It shouldn't really matter though, should it? Haven't people just said they've then been given a negative balance; or in some cases the redemption has been cancelled and points taken back?

at the beginning of this promotion, back in September, I transferred all my points out to SPG on the 30th Sept to take advantage of the 0.6 transfer ratio. Early in October my MR account was POCed, which I assume was an attempt to reverse out one of more of the bonus points payments that made it into my account during Sept. The POC amount was the total amount of points in my MR account at the time, being my regular earning since transferring out the points on 30th Sept and the date in October when I was POCed. So I was put into a negative balance and the redemption (transfer to SPG) was not reversed.

My Spend Promotion - NOV paid on 3rd Feb bonus points payment included the exact same number of points that were originally POCed in October. So it took almost 4 months for the points to be returned to my account.

I have not heard of anyone who claims to have ended up with a negative balance or to have had a redemption reversed. There were suggestions by some people earlier in this thread that they may do those things, but I have not seen any claims of it actually occurring to anyone.
