"Stories For Every Journey" - free to a good home

Hi all, I am moving house and have discovered I have two boxes of the Qantas Stories For Every Journey. If anyone on here wants one set, they can be collected from Eastern Suburbs (Sydney). Private message me. Ideally they will be collected today. Thanks

How much have you flown in 2014.

Don't have stats as per above format. I use TripIt to manage all my bookings and it tells me this for 2014: Trips: 47 Days: 153 Distance: 275,282 km Cities: 31 Countries: 9 Each 'trip' would contain a minimum of two flights, sometimes four, and in the rare case six.

And a nice wee gift was sitting at my door this morning thanking me for attending the dinner! Something quite unique and bespoke. Well played!

What's the service on QF trans-tasman in J?

QF's TT J has dropped a bit in recent times. A small cabin though and if you get good staff the flight is enjoyable. The food is OK. Wines are usually NZ Sav for the white option. The champagne is no longer served I've noticed in my last few trips. EK: I haven't flown with them for a while...

    How much do you fly?

Cheers for all the replies - definitely interesting... I've flown 60 sectors in the six months to June 30 this year.... total BIS miles of 87,174. A lot of domestic... three long hauls to LHR, YYC and GRU... and a few trans-tasman. I'm only 24 so my mates all think I'm living the dream...

    How much do you fly?

Was thinking recently - that I've flown a lot this year.... Last year was pretty full on for me (99 flights in the calendar year) and this year I'm on target to fly more! This is a combination of domestic, short-haul international and long-haul international. It got me thinking, how I...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Sat beside Megan Gale in the MEL QP a while back.... there are definitely worse people!

    Upgrades

Always keen to read others experiences... I've had my fair share of upgrades in the first half of this year. Domestics usually.... and because QF cancels a flight either side and reallocates a heap of PAX. I don't expect upgrades when I buy a $100 fare - but its nice when it happens...

Qantas Club Arrivals Lounge - LAX?

Any tips - off to Canada and it's my first time through LAX. I'm landing on QF and departing many hours later (too many) and flying on Air Canada. What are my lounge options given I am flying J to LAX as a QFF WP and then to Air Canada as a Star Alliance Gold. Any tips or help appreciated.

Taking an iphone to USA - and Optus

Optus will unlock if you call them. All you need to tell them is that you are travelling and wish to get an overseas SIM. I've done this with various iPhones with Optus. You need to plug the phone into your computer and create a back up (select the phone in iTunes and right click and select...

Book Online or through an Agent?

I have always booked my own flights if they are straight forward (120+ per year). Recently I've needed to book to Sao Paulo and Calgary so I have a travel agent now. They are able to get the price cheaper than I can in all instances. Also helps in countries you aren't familiar with where they...

    virgin blue exit row seat

From experience and memory I think one row is classified as front and one classified as the back. So depends which exit row you have. They usually don't police it too strictly so go with the one with the shortest queue.

    New Mobile Check-In

Maybe the reflection from the mobile device screen would be an issue with current scanners? Just a thought - not an expert. Someone here will be though....

    Gifting Rewards

Get your cousin to change their Airpoints address to your property... Then a few days later put them down in your profile. I have put a mate (another male) down as a Partner and he gets Parter Gold Elite. If they said anything we were going to drop the "sexual discrimination" clause on them.

    New Mobile Check-In

Had a look and couldn't see this mentioned anywhere else... Did MEL-SYD yesterday... upon check in there was a new barcode kind of scanner on the check in desk. I asked if this was for OLCI BP's and was told it was for something new. I pushed a bit futher and she said soon we will be able to...

    Free A-club Gold Membership

Yes it works. Just quote your number. I found out about this deal mid-way through a stay last week. They are unsure if it can be backdated to include that stay. But used it at BNE Novotel on Sunday night fine and back at an ibis again now and worked fine. I've actually booked three rooms...

    Jelana Dokic - Flight distruption

Was any one on the SYD-MEL QF flight today that had a "verbal altercation" between two parties? It was the boyfriend and coach of Jelana Dokic (tennis player). Reported on 7 News that first they had a verbal altercation with another female passenger who was eventually moved to the front...
